Because they are doing a great job with teaching many skills that will enable the kids to apply for many different careers.
A small enough school to have personnel who 'know' most of the students from their neighborhoods churches and YMCA. Young faculty who are enthusiastic and energetic.
Bonner Springs High School is a great place to educate students. Both my sons attended Kindergarten thru 12th grade. The teachers and staff were always very willing to help when extra help was needed. Staff is very friendly.
We have two boys who attend BSHS. Our youngest son has significant disabilities and has become a valued member of his school. Our oldest son is gifted. While there are limited classes for advanced studies there are many classes which challenge even the most intelligent student. Both of our boys are part of extra-curricular activities. I would not choice another district or school as our boys are learning growing and leading!! The teachers care and the administration has truly learned from our youngest son.
As a parent you have to want that extra help. My needs for my childred have always been met at Bonner. You have to be just as envolved as the teachers. It is a great school district and a great place to live.
The school isn't great. The teaching is mediocre and the athletics are terrible. Although it is better than some schools in the Kansas City Metro it certainly shouldn't be your first choice. I'm a current student and would rather go somewhere else as I do not feel that I am being properly prepared for college (sadly I have to stick with Bonner). There are no 'Advanced' classes (such as AP honors or IB) and the curriculum is a joke. We do however have nice facilities the football stadium is one of the best in the city and do get to use the YMCA next door for school purposes. The building is usually very clean too. I would not recommend sending your child to this school.
This school is ok. but they lack a certin firmness that is needed to help my son excell in his learning
Bonner Springs school is a great school that really does everything that they can do in their power for the students. Involved with the parents as well with the students. The teachers have great ways of teaching with one on one help along with classes being small. Part of the school great points is their teachers. The students of Bonner Springs from talking to them really love the friendly teachers and the surroundings.
Did not like how they treated my son with extrem ADHD Did not work with him at all. I also did not like how the teached my son. did not sit down and work with him. they just told him to do it on his own. i did like the way the would call me if my son was not in class or in school. liked the principal he was very understanding with my son. do like there activities as well.
