This is my first year at Sullivan Middle School. It is also my first year of teaching period! I have to say that I am EXTREMELY lucky to have found employment at such an amazing school. I teach seventh grade humanities (English/Social Studies) and I have found the students in Bonsall to be extremely courteous enthusiastic and respectful. I enjoy every day that I get to come and teach. The administration is supportive and listens to the needs of its teachers. I hope to be employed at Sullivan for many many years!

Thanks both to active parent groups and a school board that values and at least partially funds art and music Sullivan is a well-rounded school that continues to offer art music and other extra-curriculars. We could wish for more differentiated academics to challenge all students but overall Sullivan staff does a great job. The school itself is well-maintained and appears to be a safe environment. Our student a 7th grader has been happy at Sullivan and it's definitely the best middle school in the immediate area.
Teachers are caring enthusiastic and well suited to subjects they teach. regardless the attendance clerk is rude and abrupt. The principal does not welcome parents on campus. The principals correspondence i.e. email/all-call is poorly written and rarely contains useful information. Campus security is lacking and maintenance of parking/pick-up areas is non-existent.
I do not enjoy this school because the people are rude and my kids have always wanted to change schools when they started going. It looks like a neat school on the outside however the kids are not well mannered. One time my kid went to talk to the principal and she told him "go away." They were reporting a very important issue on bullying.
Sullivan is a very good school. I think the teachers care and are interested in the students learning. Really like the smaller feel for my children. This is my second child to go thru Sullivan and we are very happy with it.
Any school that shows " A Bugs' Life" (film for 4yr olds) to a seventh grade class raises serious doubts. They have also recently passed rules banning hugging of any kind. What exactly does that teach our future generation? Disgusting. The principal tells anyone who disagrees with her to find another school. Not very diplomatic or professional
It has been brought to the attention of the principal that some girls have been bullying a girl and treating her like an outcast. The principal has not taken any action to rectify the situation and agrees that the victim should transfer to another school. How disgraceful that she will do nothing.
The lessons are well below me. I talked to an eighth grader in yearbook her science assignment was to find shapes in nature! They give you those kinds of assignments in second grade at the charter school i attended before middle school. They had us learning eighth grade math in fith grade there in history we were up to the 1800's! Major downgrade as far as quality goes.
I just started middle school and overall the school is pretty good. It has great teachers good food and fun sports. The only downpoint is that the 8th graders are mean and rude sometimes.
I have had 3 of my children in Sullivan one has completed their middle school with great results. The second is completing 8th grade this year and my third child is completing 6th grade. They are a very disciplened school with high morals as how children should act towards each other and towards their teachers. They have always helped the kids when needed which is great since so many times kids get lost in the shuffle.
Quality of academic programs has been steadily degrading. There music program has not been consistently supported by a feeder program from the elemetary school so it has suffered to; however the teacher has done great with the tools she has at her disposal and considering the obstacles she faces. The level of parent involvement in 'activities' is excellent. The parent involvement in the classroom is much less than at the elementary school.
I think sullivan middle school is a very nice and well handed school. The teachers there are very prepared and well organized they are always on time and willing to give anyone another try. Our pricipals at our school are very nice funny and they make everyone proud. Our saftey at or school is well organized to students and teachers. I think sullivan middle school is one of the best school ive ver been to. Sullivan middle school is a very great school for kids and parents.
