New prinicpal does not return calls e-mails or comment on any concerns. Teachers are good but if a child is falling behind there is no help available nor do they notify the parents untill the report cards are issued. They focus totally on the MCAS to ensure the school looks good in the ratings...

I have a child in K1 this year. I have been very impressed with her teacher the principle and the staff. My child loves school and I am impressed with the great parental involvement.

I am a parent of a 4th grader and a 1st grader and I cannot say enough good things about the excellent education my children are experiencing at the Joyce Kilmer School. As a member Of the School Parent Council I am aware of the budgetary challenges which seem to increase year after year. The Kilmer also has the additional challenge of being an expanding school from an Elementary K to 5 to a K to 8. I value the great Joyce Kilmer community that I have enjoyed over the 5 years we have attended this school We as parents must realize that the high level of education we now enjoy will not continue without the continued dedication and commitment of parent volunteers.

Joyce Kilmer is the greatest school. My son cried leaving K2 because he LOVED school so much. I can't say enough wonderful things about the school community parents teachers and principal.

I have two children at the Kilmer; one has been there since K2 and will graduate this June '05. The teachers at this school are exceptional and have been there for years; the two K2 teachers are in their second year as the two prior retired. The Kilmer teachers give 100% and expect children to meet exceptional but reachable standards. Homework is a 'given' and for the upper grades expect it on weekends and vacation-breaks. The parents are often overbearing putting way more pressure on stay-at-home moms or 2nd-3rd shift parents to step up and volunteer during the school day but feel 'exempt' because 'THEY work' but if that's the worst thing you can say about a school that's a pretty high quality learning facility. The Kilmer is 'high in the trees' when it comes to a disciplined but supportive environment. It's a place to learn and grow!
