not in my child case in the past one teacher grabbed him and asked him in front of the board if he could understand now that was humilliating and the principal did nothing about it not the best school in my opinion.

This school has really helped me a lot. i am in fifth grade and have been here since kindergarten. I am terribly glad i have not switched. i am also in the gifted class. The teacher there is utterly amazing. She connects with the kids understands them and makes sure it is never silent in her room. We challenge ourselves but have a little fun in the process. In my regular classroom the teacher works one-on-one with the students and monitors them well.

Our kindergartener has Mrs. May for a teacher and she is just spectacular. Our son entered the school 2.5 months ago and at that time he knew his ABCs and could sound out a word or two when he wasn't distracted. Two days ago he read a whole book to us! The case with mathematics is no different. We are extremely pleased and look forward to finding out what his capabilities are during the rest of this year.

Poinciana has an unbelievable staff of creative teachers who make learning fun and exciting!

I have a highly gifted child. After touring numerous number of schools (including gifted privat and gifted public) we have decided that this was the best school. And it is amazing. After only a month of school all the teachers know most of the kids by their first names. Compare to other schools this school still offers Physical education along side of Art and Music. Other great resources are Math Lab Science lab with microscopes and live animals planetarium Lego robotics chess club. (Come tour the school it is jaw dropping.) My child is extremely happy at this school and the teachers are working hard creating curriculum based on his academic level. I am very happy with our choice!

My 8 year old was in a full time gifted program at another Palm Beach County school and I brought him to Poinciana for the superior education they offer here. I also have a child who is in Kindergarten at Poinciana. The K program is like no other in the district - hands on creative and stimulating. I drive a distance to get to the school and it is absolutely worth it. The Principal is really amazing and the teachers and staff are wonderful. My kids are bubbly and excited to share what they did at the end of each day. I am thrilled that I found this jewel.

Getting into this school was the best thing that ever happened to my family! They have a very exciting hands on program with some of the finest teachers I have ever met. My kids get a full education here including arts and music as well as computer math and science labs. Coolest thing of all- they have a planetarium! I am so glad that my kids go here. I was worried about switching to a public school but after 3 years all I have to say is positive! The administration and front office staff are very friendly. It really feels like a big family. There are lots of opportunities to volunteer and be involved in your child's day. I wish every school could be as great as Poinciana! Yay Panda pride!!!

Unique cool school! Hands on group learning many fun activities and changing classes with specialized teachers makes it easier on children who have difficulty sitting still. It's great to go into a class and see the children working together thinking & discussing lessons with parent volunteers assisting them! This school has not cut out art music technology and PE. I love to see the children playing at recess on the playground and participating in sports on the field and courts at PE. K even has aerobics! Gardening & hydroponics are experienced. I especially love the many field trips this school has. Lots of clubs including fishing scrapbooking dance reptile art future teachers... This is a high tech school with plenty of computers video microscopes Telescopes with digital cameras Lego Robotics and Planetarium with space shuttle simulator and students dress as astronauts. Even kindergarteners do their own pod casts and use sign lang. as a second lang..GREAT!

I have a son who just completed the first grade at Poinciana. We are extremely pleased with the quality of instruction the dedication of the teachers and the innovative approach to education. This is a fantastic 'A' school that goes beyond what we have seen in other 'A' schools in the county. All subjects are taught with a hands on approach and a child truly learns how to think for him/herself. There is an amazing amount of volunteers and parent involvement. The facilities compare to that of a well endowed private school. They have a planetarium science lab lego robotics facility computer lab space simulator television broadcasting studio and hydroponics lab. They truly make learning fun. We love Poinciana!

I have 3 children in Poinciana. The majority of teachers are wonderful unfortunatly there are a handful who should retire. My children have learned so much from the hands on approach at this school. There are lots of clubs and after school programs to get the children more involved. This is a great school with the exception of a few teachers.

I have a fifth grader and a third grader. I truly feel that this school is amazing. The teachers go over and above. They have a way in finding the best in each student. I have never seen such dedication in staff. I am proud to be a part of that and the great school actual rating means nothing to me. What truly matters is what goes on inside!!!

I have a son in 2hd grade and a daughter in kindergarten at Poinciana. The school is amazing. Children learn hands on they specialize in Math and Science and much care goes into these subjects. My son just finished a Power Pint presentation on the planet Mercury. Teachers are amazing caring and patient. They are in constant contact with parents through e-mail. every single member of the staff is dedicated and attentive. I love this school. They have a Planetarium and a Space Flight Simulator. Children fron K to 5th grade are taught chess and hand language. The children learn by discussing topics and actually THINKING about them. Its a great education method if you want your child to be a leader and not a follower.

I have a fifth grader and a second grader. I feel this school offers many unique programs that challange my children and provides them with knowledge that will benefit them for many years to come. The outstanding staff and parent support makes Poinciana a wonderful place to be and be part of.

My son went here and it was great. His fifth grade teacher and the media staff were particularly exceptional. It's a safe uncrowded school with lots of neat things going on and lots of opportunity for parent participation. Extra cool features include a planetarium in the school and plenty of computers.

This is our first year at Poinciana. My son is doing so well. The topics and indepth discussions they have and learn about are amazing (this is for a Kindergartener!). Everything they learn is firsthand many experiments and projects in the classroom to show how things work not just to learn from books alone. Great idea. We are definately staying at Poinciana. (please note the low rating for 'Extracurricular Activities'. I did not rate it low because they are poor---there just aren't really any. The school focuses on Math Sciene and Technology so there are no sports or such. It would be nice to have these activities also but it is still worth the trouble of going elsewhere to get these activities in)

I am very impressed with the foundation that this school gives. They make great efforts to give all children the extra attention needed and not holding back those that can excell. A true oureach school.

I am always impressed with the team work of each grade level to stay on task. The math/science/technology program teaches everything a child must learn based around these three main stays. This school has the highest level of art and music teachers available. I have witnessed a music class with incorporated math and an art class with incorporated literature. This school has a strong level of parent involvement in the class room and for all school activities.

My child just finished six years at Poinciana MST Elementary School. I have the highest regard for the school in every way and I am an educator myself. If you child has an opportunity to attend consider it a blessing!
