My son started 6thgrade this year and we choiced into Nolan because of what we heard about their acedemics and the TSA programs. What I was not prepared for is the level of excellence in the teaching staff both from an acedemic standpoint and a dedication standpoint. I have emailed teachers at 2 in the morning with a panicked homework question and gotten answers before I got to work at 7 30 in the morning. Not just with one teacher but with all of my son`s teachers. The support staff at the school is just as positive and helpful as the teachers. This school iswonderful.

This is my daughter's second year at Nolan Middle School and she loves it! She takes advanced classes with excellent teachers. Every person in that school goes out of their way to help parents. There is a zero tolerance policy on bullying. It's great that she can go to school and be in a safe friendly environment and get a wonderful education. When my daughter was sick the nurse was very kind and considerate and even let her stay in the clinic for an hour since I could not get away from work! I really appreciated her treating my child like she would treat her own ) This is a great school with very caring staff!

We just moved to this area this year and my child loves Nolan. This is the first school she has attended that did not have bullying at all. The kids are all so friendly and welcoming to new children and it was easy for my child to switch her electives around. I think this is the BEST middle school in Florida!!!

When I met the principal (Mrs. High) while touring the school last year I found her to be warm and friendly. I couldn't believe that several middle school girls asked her for hugs-talk about approachable. This school has been amazing- I don't have a single complaint! My organized child became more organized and the transition to middle school was seamless for our family. Academics after school care teachers...thumbs up.

I believe three stars is a little too high but in fairness to the handful of amazing teachers I'm giving it a three. Aside from the Gal in the front office the office staff and nurse are extremely cold and borderline rude. I had two children go through Nolan but finally pulled out after two years. So many people pull out for the same reason lack of leadership lack of discipline and bullying. Ms. High while the sweetest woman that walked the earth is clueless when it comes to this age. When bullying has been reported by parents she talks with the child/children involved and then tells the parents that the students feel bad and didn't mean it. No consequences. At first I thought it was my child but when my second child came home with stories of friends being slammed against the wall back packs grabbed and thrown down the hallway I knew it wasn't an over reactive child. My children have thrived in their new schools. Turns out the there is no supervision in between classes. At their new school the teachers stand outside their door in between classes giving bullies little chance to body slam or torment other students.

My daughter is entering her third year at Nolan. There is no doubt the culture and learning environment is far above the others in the area. We are so pleased to be part of this school and when it is time for mymyoungest to attend middle school he will go to Nolan. Mrs. High is amazing and her leadership is impecable. The faculty and teachers are genuine and that speaks volumes.

Both of my children attend Nolan Middle School one in 8th grade and one in 6th grade. My 8th grader has been there all three years and I have had nothing by great experiences there with both the teachers and the administration in general. Both of my children are "gifted" and I feel that even though they are at a public school there are opportunities through Advanced and Honors classes as well as a Gifted Class to be challenged. My oldest son will have four high school classes completed this year by taking Honors classes and higher level electives such as Spanish I before he attends high school in the fall. My younger child is loving the new technology teacher and the hands-on experience he is getting in the class. He is very excited about being in TSA next year and learning more sophisticated techology techniques. I have found the teachers to be strong yet fair and accommodating when a child is sick and must miss school. I am hoping the high school can continue to match the high standards set by Nolan Middle School.

This school is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Great teachers strong classes and has wonderful students. My children have been there for two years now and they don't want to leave! ) They are yearly honor roll students. My kids were in a bad school before and once i put them in Nolan their grades have gotten better by a long shot! They love waking up everyday to go to Nolan. I strongly reccomend you put your children in R. Dolan Middle School.

We have had a wonderful year at this school! One thing I would like to mention in particular is how strong their TSA class is now! They have a brilliant teacher who has led the kids to achieve many awards in TSA this year. The principal is a very caring person who simply wants the best for the children. This has been one of our best school years! Thank you Nolan!

Nolan is the strongest middle school in Manatee County. They continually have the highest test scores and send scores of students on to compete nationally in history fair science fair and music competitions. The principal is responsive and hands on and teachers are excellent. It has been a great school for my children for the past three years. They provide so many opportunities to get involved outside the classroom and reward students that take learning and academics seriously.

This school is the best. My kids love going here! The teachers are amazing and very patient. The teachers spend enough time with each individual student that needs or asks for help. There is great student/teacher/parent communication my kids really enjoy all the friends they have made. Thanks so much Nolan!

I agree with the comment on leadership at Nolan. I don't agree with the way in which the students are disciplined in front of their peers. Some students are disrespectful and could use a word or two about appropriate behavior. Administration chooses to look the other way in most instances. As a taxpayer and a parent this is not they way I expect professionals to treat our children.

I am a parent of two children who've attended Nolan and also an occasional substitute teacher at this school. I've found the teachers and administration very responsive to my needs and inquiries as a parent and also responsive to my needs as a substitute. The school is structured fairly well to keep mischief to a minimum and when one of my children was being bothered the school took it seriously and made immediate changes to reduce the potential conflict. Academically this school has performed well and I am pleased with how my children have performed thus far with one of my children entering into advanced classes and scoring within the top 5% nationally in math. I feel fortunate that my children attend this school!

This school is very undiciplined. The few teachers that they have are very good teachers but their leadership is 0.
