Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)

In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

I am a current student at Brady High and some days the staff makes me proud to be a Brady Bulldog and other times....my God... In Brady if you are not in Athletics then you are a nobody. The boys athletics are finally staring to be a powerhouse in the state at every sport(not including base baseball.....we still have ways to go) their is a swagger amongst the boys and they know they are the best. our Band has had better days but the FBBB spirit still lives. We have some teachers that go through hell and back to help you learn and be a productive student. We also have others that dont have the basic concept of being a teacher. This next semester we move to our new school after being in the old high school since the 20's

I used to go to Brady HIgh School and i loved it but most of the people on here are right. Athletics is a very very big part of this school and the people in athletics do get more help or treated better in one way or another. Wether its getting away with more or the help. Some of the teachers aren't so great about helping the ones in need like me. When i went there i was failing math then I moved to a much bigger school with much bigger classes and the teacher still got around to everyone including me. I wasnt failing by the end of the year but if i would have stayed i dont think anything would have changed. Other than that I loved this school and would much rather be there than the school I am now attending.

Take it from me this school really has its days it depends on who you are and what teachers you have most of the teachers are great but some who will be unnamed arent real kind to others. I guess you could say some teachers have there favorites and tend to pay more attention to them rather than pay attention to the ones who really need it! I would like to see a change in the way things work at this school theres to many crowds and everyone seems to stay with there groups. i want everyone to like everyone but i guess that will never happen if some teachers keep tending to kind of block out kids they dont like. I am a senior currently at Brady High School and I have to say I do not enjoy it. I noticed that students in Athletics were treated differently and better. When I started working myself to death to try to improve my grades and behavior I kept getting pushed farther down by the people who 'claimed' they wanted to help. The school does not seem to be doing very well. I attended a school board meeting and noticed in the treasury that close to a million dollars was missing! The matter may be resolved now but that fact is not very settling. Hector Martinez and Eric Bierman are the principal and vice-principal. From my experience I believe that Mr. Bierman seems to be the one who cares. He comes to the school with a smile and helps me out when I need it.

I have been a student in the Brady School District since i was in kindergarten and there is nothing that i would change about the way they do anything. I am now a senior at Brady High School and have seen many things but one thing that really amazes me is the support from the community in sports and other events that the school has. our boys went alot farther in football than they have in many years and the whole community was right behind them every steo if the way. but i do have to agree with some of the other people who have put there thoughts in that if you are interested in arts especially one act play they aren't really as supportive of it as much. the cast is wonderful this year and Mrs. Roper the one act play sponser is one of the best people for it.

i attended this school a couple of years ago. It was amazing how the athletic dept. students got more attention from teachers and extra help. The school needs to enforce uniforms because it is impossible to shop for things to wear the dresscode is so strict. Brady also being a small town the teachers kids (which there are several) got away with murder...academic wise and behavior wise. Hector Martinez whom is now the principle can be extremely unfair and unreasonable........evrything pretty much in my opinion depends on who your momma and daddy are and what you contribute to the school along the lines of athletics.

Brady High School is great. A lot of people complain about dress code but it keeps the students and the school altogether looking very nice. Brady High School has a good reputation for that. Extracurricular activities are a huge deal. The band FBBB is very talented. Has been for many years. The band is a tradition at Brady High School. Sports are supported greatly. We don't have many students that aren't envolved.

Although this school is strict in dress code the support they offer to their students makes up for it. The teachers are very well familiar with the students and are able to encourage them in whatever he/she chooses to do. This school does support all types of organizations and sports but there is an overall popularity in band and in Athletics as with any other school.

This school is very strict on stuidents and is only interested in promoting sports and band classes. Students in other areas are often over looked and even chastised for not being in these. Most of the teachers are not willing to help students that are in inclusion. The Special Education teachers however are some of the best teachers at this facility and deserve more recognition. I agree that more emphasis needs to be put on creativity and a lttle less on the dress code.

Brady high school rocks. I think that Brady High School is a great place for my kids. It has good teachers that care about their students education. I wouldn't send them anywhere else.

This school is very strict on the students. They don't have many supplies. But some of the teachers are great.

If you have a child that is interested in the arts don't come here. The art teacher as well as the english 4 and chemistry/anatomy are excellent and the other teacher are for the most part wonderful however Brady is nto supportive of the arts the art class gets very very minimal funding the art teacher ends up buying most of the supplies and although one act play is offered theatre is not supported at all and there is no theatre class. If you like band though you're in luck the band is very well off probably because they have their own huge fundraiser every year.
