Regents Exams (RE)

In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics, global history and geography, and US history and government are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

Community ratings & reviews

Briarcliff is a wonderful school. The environment there is encouraging and challenging and unlike what I've heard/seen from many other area schools not cripplingly competitive amongst its many high achievers. Great spirit great community and most of all fantastic teachers. Amazing AP program sets students up not only to transition well to college settings but to the top of the collegiate pool.

The teachers have a great group of intelligent kids to work with and they respond in kind. Mr Kashian the Principal is fantastic. There is a good mix of classes and AP offering plus a senior year internship alternative.

I have gone to this school district all my life. Its very good. High quality for honors students and those with learning disabilities. Middle students don't receive as much. Still good though.
