Michigan Merit Examination (MME)

In 2010-2011 Michigan used the Michigan Merit Examination (MME) to assess students in grade 11 in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. The MME is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

I go to woodhaven high school and i think its a wonderful school you could get along with the principle and the teachers. i also went to BMS (my favorite school) and patrick henry middle school. So whoever thinks these schools arent good is just because your child doesnt want to learn if you do then you will pass.!!!!!!1

I am very dissatisfied with this school as well as BMS. I have one son that will finally be out this year and am looking to move the other to a different school next year. I feel that most of the teachers and principles set the children up to fail. It is a very strict school which on some level would be good if they focused on the right issues. I feel that both my children would of excelled in a different district. I can't wait for the year to end. Always check on school of choice wish I would of done it sooner.

I am an alumni and cherished my time in Woodhaven. I believe the teachers care about each and every student and wants them to succeed!

Woodhaven High was a good school in my opinion. There really isn't too much you can ask of a school that receives such minimal funding. They do the best with what they have. Having a projector in every room is something that is at a college level not a high school level. The new athletic complex is beautiful and the athletic programs are improving! Personally I enjoy the English classes available at this school the most.

I would say this school is just excellent

I live in Woodhaven but I'm leaving the school district because it's absolutely horrible. There's no discipline and the people surrounding me don't care about school; Therefore every class here is chaos. Teachers don't care either! I have maybe one or two good teachers. The rest don't know what they're talking about.

Woodhaven is a very good school as far as academics are concern but not every student is a top student in the classroom. The school has a wonderful campus for the students.I talk to a lot of the students and partents and they are not happy with the sports program very much in need of improvement . The athletes are not taught to excel & succeed at the sport they love.Strong leadership need to continue. The sport program teach you how to loose but winning is a good thing that is a life skill.Whatis A sport without the relentless drive to improve and pursuing their goals and striving to reach the next level not only in the claaroom but in life and in the sport they choose.Woodhaven is a good choice if you want your student to get a good education not to play sports on a competitive level.

Woodhaven High School is horrible. The students are great but the school is terrible. It's almost a joke to say you go to Woodhaven because even the teachers laugh at our district. The attendance policy at the high school is strictly followed unlike any other down river schools. also if you miss the days you can not make them up giving you no chance to succed. The teachers they don't really give homework because guess what they haven't had contracts for almost 3 years so they really don't care what you do. Almost every day is a free for all in most of my classes we do maybe some busy work. We dont have enough text books to take home therefore you can't study. As my dad said Woodhaven has a 'great school district' but guess what not anymore.

I believe the quality of academics is great. I have always been pleased with the acedemics in the school district and this is why I felt it the best place in my area for my child to receive an education. I feel the running of the sports programs could use some improvement. They do not do enough to prepare the students in the 9th and 10th grade for the high school sports. I feel we need a stronger leadership and someone who cares about improving some of the sports programs. It is easy for a child to pay to participate and join a sport but not good for them to learn to excel or succeed.

This is a great school with excellent A.P and Vocational programs. There is something for everyone. There are many extra curricular programs and every sport is available to participate in. The major sports haven't been getting W's in abundance but they are improving and that is not the main thing anyway. However Soccer is doing extremely well. The drama department is among the very best in the entire state! This school recently modernized is a bright spot in the southern suburbs and it's population represents the USA in microcosm. Go Woodhaven!

First of all I am a student. WHS is a great school. This is my last year attending WHS as I am a senior (Finally!). I have to say I'm glad I have gone here for my high school career. My sister graduated from WHS in 1996 ten years ago. Based on the two of us. We love this school. The teachers and staff are really great. They try to help you as best they can. It's really fun to be a student here because you learn to accept a lot of different people and a lot of different views and opinions. The classes here are good. There is a lot to choose from. WHS is a part of the Downriver Career Technical Consortium.I'm a student and I'm saying to you give Woodhaven a try. I'm not saying it's a perfect school but it's definitely a school worth trying!

Both of my sons have or do attend WHS. I personally have to say as an active parent especially within the Drama Department that this school is quality. WHS instills focus leadership and friendship especially with regards to diversity. Not once have I ever felt insecure when walking through WHS - the students and staff are always friendly. I am also pleased with the results of pre-college testings allowing a sense of relief as a parent to know that my kids are and will be college bound. WHS is continually forging with state recognition as a top notch academic community and I am certainly grateful to witness such. The parent involvement is wonderful as I have also made many friends within the WHS community. I am definitely a proud and thankful parent of Woodhaven High School students and would highly advise anyone thinking of moving into this district to do so.
