In 2011-2012 North Carolina used End-of-Grade (EOG) tests to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math, and grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The EOG is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of North Carolina. Students must pass the grade 8 EOG test in order to graduate from high school. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the tests.

All three of my children attended Micaville School and I can say without reservation that this school cares deeply about its students. All of my children were approached as individuals with unique learning requirements and the school did its utmost to meet their individual needs. As a parent I was encouraged to come to the school whenever I wanted no advance notice required. Parents at this school are very active and school activites well attended. The teachers are professionals and many of them are working toward or have attained national certification. On the down side the facility is quite old and beginning to fall apart depsite the obvious loving care given to it. Fortunately the county has plans for a new facility so this won't be a problem for long. In short you can entrust your child to this school and you will not be disappointed!
