Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA)

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

I love this school. The academics are excellent and the music program is one of the best. There is a wide variety of athletics and activities to be involved in so there is something for everyone. I love most of the kids in my grade and all the teachers will be there for you if you need extra help or just someone to talk to. The sense of community is great I feel like I'm apart of something wonderful. I highly recommend this school to anyone. RAIDER NATION!

The Twin Valley School District is awful !!!! My child also was bullied at the middle school and the guidance counselor did nothing it got to the point where my child had to be injured and they suggested I start home schooling. Even after starting the cyber school program I still had trouble with the guidance counselor setting it up and it has not gotten any better with the guidance counselor at the high school. I would send my child back to Coatesville Area School's in a heart beat over Twin Valley. All Twin Valley does is try to pretend they are so concerned about the students when all they are worried about is their reputation.

My son is in 7th grade. It took TVSD 6 years to realize that he had a learning disability. Unreal!!! My son struggled all through elementary school with homework. His 4th grade teacher even laughed at the fact that my son would play his headphones in class in stead of paying attention when I met with her and the guidance counselor at his parent/teacher conference. So unprofessional!!!

My husband and I are really happy our children are getting an education at this school. TVHS has a wide range of classes extra curricular activities and support. Every staff member I have dealt with has been cordial and supportive in giving me information about what they are teaching my children. The students are also kind and like to learn. For the previous review it doesn't seem the parent is very well educated so they should be the one learning not their child. Twin Valley is great I really recommend it!

My second child graduated in May.My first was an advanced and my second was in learning support. I think I have seen all angles. Run run fast!!!This school is only for the very self motivated independent learner. There is essentielly No learning support at all. They waste all that money. On what I'd like to know! My child past year after year and now I find he can't read and has know real vocabulary. He can't pass a college entrance exam. Beware! You have been warned! Curriculum is very weak.

Good and prepare well for real world experiences

Excellent teacher student ratio. Well qualified Teachers hands on Principal Vice Principals and Guidance. Academic Programs are broad and include college preparatory courses along with advanced programs for advanced students and learning programs for students who need extra assistance.

Twin Valley is a place for educational growth for all of its students. However since it is a small school located in rural area its budgeting does not allow for an expansion on extracirricular activites nor advanced classes. Twin Valley is also very much so technologically advanced with computers in every classroom allowing students to access the Internet for educational reasons at any time.
