These scores are terrible.!! My daughter is about to move down there and this is the school that she's going to be attending. How are these test scores acceptable? Compared to Douglasville Ga (Chapel hill middle school) scores. Oh my God!

I love this school. I'm an 8th grader there and I love the teachers the staff and the students. They really focus on bullying. Diplomat has SO MUCH school spirit and it is The most fun to be there. The teachers make it easy to learn and FUN to learn. And plus they care. Respect for one another engulfs the school daily. The school's motto is "Work hard be kind." and we live up to that. Go DMS Wildcats!

This is my second year teaching there and the administration faculty teachers and students are second to none. More teachers with advanced degrees than any school I have ever worked at. Almost no teacher turnover each year. Principal has been here 9 years. That says a lot. Zero gang activity.

Last school year I was extremely nervous about my special needs son attending middle school. The staff was very understanding and went out of their way to help make the transition smooth. There were some problems through the year where some of the teachers were not fulfilling the requirements of my child's 504 but I am hoping that is behind us. The staff was actively trying to improve on my concerns with that. I always volunteer at my children's schools and went through the necessary training. I was disappointed that I was only asked to volunteer once for one day. I had to call to announce I was volunteering at a dance and as a chaparone on a fieldtrip or my son would not have been able to attend. The school does very little to get information to parents about extra curricular happenings. I assume they are expecting the student to bring all info home. I doubt most kids this age willingly bring info home. If you are a parent of a kiddo like mine who is on the spectrum there is a serious communication issue. I would love for the school to keep it's webiste up through Parentlink for communication of upcoming events.

My son is in 6th grade and had a hard time adjusting to the new "process" of middle school. The guidance counselor has been there every step of the way with him and he is showing enthusiasm and meeting new friends. There was a bullying issue (minor) that was handled swiftly seriously and involved teacher and administration.

This school is okay. The teachers are average and the administration is average. I would not recommend this school.

I can't think of anything bad to say about this school. My daughter is going into the eight grade next year and she has had a great year this year. I think the staff really cares about the students and it shows.

I work a single mom and work full time so I am not active in P.T.A. but I do attend whatever I can at D.M.S. What I can say is that my 8th grade son is a student at D.M.S. and he is very happy there. The teachers counselor and administration is great. I do worry. Times have changed. ALl in all I am very happy with the quality of the academic programs and sports and extracurricular activities.

A very nice school with caring staff who offer to help the kids in tutoring and after school programs. I had pulled my child out of another middle school here in the same county changing his grades from D's and F's to A's and B's.

I think Diplomat Middle is the best middle school in Lee County. I found the teachers to be helpful encouraging and approachable. My daughter enjoyed her 3 years here and her academic success and personal achievements gave the entire family much to be proud of.

I love this school. They have specific dress codes which parents will find appropriate and students can live with them. The atmosphere is positive for learning. I am concerned about some of the large class sizes especially the full time gifted and some of the other ESE classes. This probably coincides with low dollar expendiature for DMS' ESE per child. Otherwise the teachers are caring and encouraging.

Highly qualified teachers excellent support staff safe environment exemplary music programs and a principal who supports kids and parents are all found at Diplomat Middle. My gifted daughter is challenged and my regular education son made a smooth transistion to high school after attending DMS. The teachers care very much about kids and it shows at this school.

I love the school. The ESE team is great and so is the staff. The office the principal and the teachers are all great. There is a parent link to call to check on your child's grades weekly. Also you can e-mail or leave a message for the teachers. Most of them answer you right away. I had a problem with one teacher and the principal took my son out of her class and handled it right away.
