This school has an amazing and dedicated staff. My kids switched here from the local charter schools and are getting a much stronger education. The teachers know my kids really well. They communicate consistently and I always know what my kids are doing in class. Everyone at the school has worked incredibly hard to make this a good experience for my kids. The outdoor ed trip up Mount Elbert is also amazing. The music program and teacher are also GREAT. Second Shift climbing program is a nice bonus.I strongly recommend this to anyone who is serious about getting their kids a good education.

My children are academically challenged here and have a true connection with their teachers and classmates. Math classes are grouped by different abilities making the growth phenomenol. Math and language arts classes great. Spelling could be better. The art program is wonderful. The teachers are amazing love the weekly updates and the passion they have for teaching. Outdoor Ed programs bring the students together while learning meaningful lessons. Field trips to Denver are enlightening. Mentoring program fabulous. My kids love school and their classmates! The diversity prepares them for the real world. The teaching philosophy is based on the "growth mindset" which teaches the students that the brain is always developing. Your brain can grow and become better. I think it really motivates the students.
CMS has provided my children the opportunity to accelerate academically to meet their needs and strengths as well as integrating character development and a focus on a strong work ethic throughout the curriculum. They have participated in river management programs debates athletics outdoor education and simulations.
Rick Holt is a breath of fresh air. This is a school in the midst of a lot of great innovative changes. See us Roar
CMS a model school when it comes to caring hard working teachers and motivated enthusiastic students. The community of Carbondale is extremely supportive of all CMS's academic extracurricular and social programs.
I love the new building! The teachers and staff are very caring
It's a pretty good school the teachers are woderful and their classes are fun as their principal.
The behavior that is allowed by the staff from students is disgusting. There are some students who are allowed to use personal situations as leverage for not performing their academic and social responsibilities in school.I am seeing children being groomed by key staff members to be under-achievers and masters of excuses. This has a negative effect on other students moral. What a waste of our tax dollars. What will happen when they are 'leading' this society?
