What a great school. It is the school to choose in a district that provides choice for parents. They are the top performing school when you look at assessment scores students treating each other with respect such high attendance rates and they win almost everything in their boys' and girls' sports programs as well as academic contests. It seems like all the other schools in Casper are always chasing Dean Morgan and are trying to change to be like Morgan. Pick Morgan and good luck getting in because it comes with a waiting list at all grade levels.

Morgan has changed for the better in the past several years. Knowing the work of the administration they addressed issues with staff and programs that have needed addressed for years. Some students are not advanced learners and they transferred to another school in the district where diversity could be masked and there is no separation of church and school. There were many educators who have retired at the school and some who moved on to a high school setting where there is much less educational accountability. Do not select the school if your intent is create social isolation or if you want to focus on outdated learning practices. Check the history over past 10 years the school continues to out perform all other middle schools in Casper year-after-year with a more diversified population than any other middle school in academics safety and sports. All of my kids have attended the school and it is recommended by all families who are connected with their children's educational needs. It must be good or it wouldn't have hundreds of students waiting to get in to limited openings year-after-year. FYI The school board had to limit the size of the school because of popularity.
I went to Dean Morgan many years ago. My name was Dianne Pastuck. I would like to know if you could help me find a long lost friend of mine. When I attended Dean Morgan I was in gr. 8 in 1975. This girls name was Annette. She moved away from Mills that year and I moved home to Canada. We had a wonderful friendship and I would love to find her. Her mom was a single mom and wonderful. I moved home to Canada after gr 8 and have been searching for her. If you might or could help me on this journey I would appreciate it. If not I totallly understand.
This school has changed drastically since the other reviews were written. in the last 3-4 years there has been alarming teacher flight. Last year alone 14 teachers transfered or retired. The so-called Challenge Program for advanced students has been watered down so much that there is not much difference between it and regular classes. Students who fail are given D's so the school has a no-failure rate. Examine your options before choosing this school!
the school is fun and there is alot to do for afterschool activities the coaches and teachers are great but the food leaves a little to be desired
as a student i really think dean morgan is a good place for kids to learn have fun and make friends
This school does not meet my learning needs. And has many cliques that bully 'unpopular' children
I go to dean morgan middle school I love this school.! Dean morgan has some not some of the best teachers but all the best teachers they support you keep you active keep you healthy (we have a snack bar and they only sever us healthy stuff that will not rot our teeth make us sick or make us out of shape and they love to keep us educated.! At dean morgan we have tons of fun club and after school sports( we have volleyball cross country football art club outdoor adventure club ect...I love dean morgan goooooooooooo comets! )
Dean Morgan is a great school with a positive environment. The kids are under control and the teachers care about the kids. The principals are great leaders. There is comraderie among the adults in the building and the people seem happy to be there. The students have respect for their peers and their teachers creating a good environment. The sports programs are solid and the coaches we have had have been great. The challenge program is good but not as 'special' as I thought it would be. It is more than adequate though. The homework load is just about right...very balanced. The kids are limited in terms of what electives they can take. It seems they don't have very many choices for elective classes. Students need to be exposed to more interesting/exciting classes not just another social studies class as an elective or a cooking class where you never get to cook.
My daughter has experienced a very safe environment at Dean Morgan. Presence of staff in hallways and corridors has been very reassuring. As a parent I am less than happy with teaching in the content areas. There seems to be major emphasis on high performing students and recruitment of them. Math instruction has been dismal. Students teach themselves and heaven help them if they don't all ready know how to do the work. English promoted fun but I didn't see any increase in writing skills. Extra curricular activities have coaches who use profanity and do not model appropriate behavior.
My son attended Dean Morgan and it was the best experience ever! They have programs for studentst that struggle and have 'issues' which is important...but then in some places the regular kid gets overlooked because they are not trouble makers. That was not the case at Dean Morgan. My son was recognized both academically and personally for being a good student. His safety and well-being were always in consideration. The teachers were great. The block scheduling allowed him more time to understand his more difficult classes...and more time to enjoy the classes that were electives. My son grew academically and personally while attending Dean Morgan. I only wish the high school was as good!
I am very impressed with the focus on literacy and safety at Dean Morgan. I've worked with the school for several years now and each year the leadership (teachers and principals) are determined to address the next steps needed for continual improvement. My kids are safe involved and challenged at Dean Morgan. There is no other choice in Casper in grades 6-9!!!
The staff and scholastic programs are aexcellent
Dean Morgan is by far the 'healthiest' school in our district. It has strong leadership a diverse population of students and a middle school program to assist this age group of students. It is awesome
Dean Morgan is a great school. The administators are very involved and show a lot of pride in their school and students. I feel it is a safe school and a school where bullying is put a stop to asap and where the kids get encouragement on a daily basis. Kim
