My child started University Meadow in first grade every year since then my child has been moved from classroom to classroom due to fact teachers has been displace. Most of the time it took 3 month before placing my child in a stable class or child to adjust to new surrounding. The teachers focus more on who is the boss in classroom than who can I help to learn. There was no line of communicating with the parent emails are rarely answer and phone call may or may not get returned.. Just say I have had a bad experience with this school. Now we are getting ready for a new year. I email the principle (this is the third principle since we started) several times asking her to make sure my child be place in a class where there is lots of communicating with child.parent and teacher. We as a team can help my child to come up to part on her learning needs. The principle whom is very nice reassured me that my child has a teacher this year that will work strongly with me. I'm pretty sure this school has some great teachers here. Matter of fact I've heard parents sing the praise of some. Its just we haven't been that lucky. I guest we will see this year.

I have had kids in this school for the last 10 years and the school has been nothing but good to me and my family.

I think for the most part this school is one of the better schools in CMS. My son has an IEP. They have an excellent staff to halep what they call exceptional children. I wouldn't worry so much about the test scores dropping because almost all of thes school in CMS experienced this because they changed the way the test were graded I have 2 children in this school one in 5th grade and 1 in first. I think the teachers care about the kids.

My son has attended UM from K-4th grade. The teachers have been wonderful well most of them. However the administration is somewhat combative and they do not want to take parents concerns seriously. I simply do not like the principle's attitude towards parents however she has done an outstanding job with the logistics of cramming 1200 kids into a school that was originally supposed to handle 600. If you can option out of this school I would. But if there are few other choices there are definitely worse schools in CMS. My son has blossomed and he does like his classmates and teachers. But parent teacher relationships are lacking.

I have thus far been underwhelmed with this school. My daughter is in kindergarten. She is having problems and when I asked about the possibility of her being dyslexic I was ignored. I also was not impressed with the EOG scores in 2006 and the decreases in scores from 2005.

I've had children in this school for 6 years now and can't say enough good things about. The principal is terrific and the teachers have exceeded my greatest expectations. UM does an especially great job at identifying gifted kids and giving them the special and individualized attention they need to grow and be challenged.

Great school. Very impressed with all my child's learning there. They really take time out with your child to make sure he/she gets everything they need for the next year. Wonderful school.

My son's first year there in 4th grade. The teacher was very patient with him and challenged him and he succeeded. I am very impressed with how the class size was which gave the teachers a chance to focus more on each child individually. I wish the school went to atleast 7th grade. I think this school is one of the best in Charlotte Meck county and my son has had a great year and look forward to a great year next year.
