Hello parents and students of cps and all other places that are inquireing about kelvyn park high school. This school has been through a lot in the last few years. But is now advancing in so many areas. It has taken many years to be where we are so now as a team we will move this school foward and lift it up. I believe it has a beautiful vintage look i love it.The teachers are amazing and work very hard to help our students be successful. The new principles are truly amazing and have done great achieving projects that to me and many others have reach goals. Many great things are happening in Kelvyn Park High School im happy to be a proud parent of students at kelvyn park We just have to work hard with the staff and principles and we can be one of the best schools!

this is a decent school but needs a new building!the current one is falling apart and outdated!the gym can get hard subbing at times but being at kp is a nice experience!

I am a 1975 Grad. My Grandmother Mother Aunt and Brothers are all Grads. People and neighborhoods change. I visited the school with my wife some 7 years ago. The "kids" were OK quite busy! We thought that there was too much technology and not enough learning going on. The principal at the time was FANTASTIC. The school looked beautiful. I would love to go back and compare. WAY TO GO PANTHERS !!!

I graduated in 01. And the bad reviews I've read so far are pretty much true. Too many bad students particularly the one's in gangs. On my first day of school I've seen two fights. The teacher's. Were OK. Its just how the school is run which is poorly.

Before going to Kelvyn Park i heard that it was horrible! Fights everyday nobody there cares. i attended there as a freshmen today i'm a junior a really invovled succesful junior. People and Students say this school is poorly runned and not good. the truth is there just cintributing to what they're saying. if they really wanted to see KP a GOOD SCHOOL. then we all should stand up and do somthing about it. I' am really glad i attended Kelvyn Park.

Sorry to say but this school is extremely poorly run the kids are not learning and there is no discipline whatsoever. Kids are yelling swearing and being disrespectful to the teachers and to each other with no consequences. My kid came to this school with very good grades now his grades have fallen. there too many gangbangers who do nothing but create problems for the rest. This is the last year my child will be attending. The new principal is just as bad as the old one!!! Nothing has changed; the Board needs to close it down and reopen it withsomeone who is not afraid of enforcing rules.

This is a great school .It prepares me for college and anything else in life with programs such as Gear UP. But if i had the chance to go somewhere else i would have.

Im a a student at kp since 2005. And all I got to say is I hate the school. The kids are main reason why.Theres always clicks And don't seem to care about there education except for material things to be cool. And another thing there are some teachers that are nice and that care but are others that don;t care about some of the students they give us work withough explaning it to use.And there are some teachers that love to get studnets into trouble. I been here for 4 years this is got to be the worst school I ever seen. There other schools that are better than this crap the paintings is chiping off and the floors that are made of hard stuff is coming off but they are not doing anything about it.

As an alumni of this school. I can say I had a few good teachers but this school doesn't prepar you for college/University or life. I wouldn't send my children here.

These parents have no clue kelvyn park is a great school. How would I know? Because I attend there. This school is much better now and this is of the year 2007. The school is a smart school and very concerned about students so get your facrs straight first thank you that's all.

I have been here at kelvyn park since sept 2002 and I am graduating june 2006. Kelvyn Park has help me with everything that I needed help in if it was in one of my classes or just asling a question. Kelvyn Park also helps support students with their homework if they need help in a certain topic then thier is tutoring either by our teachers themselves or some students mentors that the school has Called The Natinoal PuertoRican Forum. We also offer many sports programs that will help benefit the students in that certain need of training. Also if the coach seees that student is not doing so well in a class then he or she will be placed in tutoring . We also have a Local School Concil that talks about the problems and great things that have happen to kelvyn park in the last month or so.

It is unfortunate but a true reality that this school is one of the worst schools i have ever seen. Some of the teachers have low expectations of the students. In general the curriculum is of poor quality. The principal is more concern about the physical upkeep of the building than that of the students' academics. Though the principal is very good at giving speeches about how concern she is about the students academics etc. The 'open door' policy that is proclaimed does not exit for this administration! it is all talk! parental involvement is all non-existant. Attendance rate at this school is extremely poor. Do not even consider registering your child at this school!

I'm a parent of a student who attends Kelvyn Park high school He is a freshman and has been for 3 years that's right he's failed 3 times and is still not recieving the help that he need's plus my son is mentally disable. his name is Alfonso Galarza. They shouldve help him become a junior three years ago. On a 1 thru 10 scale I would rate Kelvyn Park 2.5-There are so many gangs in that school if you were to walk around the hallways with a blindfold and randomly point at a person you never saw before at Kelvyn Park chances are is that he is in a gang. And dont forget about the unbearable dropout rate at Kelvyn Park -A deaply concerned parent

Kelvyn Park High School is not a great school but it does the work. My child is a senior and he passed the act test and now he is going to a great college. All of this thanks to the help of his teachers. The teachers at Kelvyn Park High School are great. They helped my child to get into college. With their encouragement my child decided to improve and so he did. Now I'm proud of my son and very grateful to the teachers who helped my child.

This school needs more discipline education more school programs to help the students that are behide in classes. It needs a better enviroment. All those student's that are invold with crews or gangs should be more invold with the school. This school has not done better! I had my daugther there and she wasn't doing so good because of the fact that the teachers and priciple did not check if the students where cutting or not. I think that this high school can do better! The kid's needs to learnd more and put more atention. This school should be rebuilted so that everthing can re-start over again.
