California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

This school has the highest API growth chart in the Chino Valley school district. +24 change from 2012 to 2013. Last year one of the parent correctly predicted in this forum that the new score will aptly show the effort of Dr. Park and her excellent staff. All the best and Congratulations everyone at Cal Aero where learning takes flight!

This summer my son he can't wait to get started on his 2nd Grade. I'm sure any parent would like to see their children excited about learning. Great Schools~ Great Community~

Great teachers and principal leadership. Everything is perfect except school office staffs. Good parent involvement.

This school has so far exceed my expectations for being a public school. As all or most schools there are students with behavioral issues however I have to say this is the minority. My child has continued to excel as he progresses each school year. The principal and assistant principal are very receptive and supportive. Many of the parents are very involved and supportive of the staff. The police is rarely ever at the school unless they are called for traffic complaints. Great school and great community!

I disagree with some description of this report. I believe this is a single case. In fact each grade has different class to encourage and develop creativity by teaching students to find a balance among synthetic analytic and practical thinking. Also Chino police is around the school sometimes because parking violation . dealing with out of control children? I've never heard before~

I disagree with the other reviews. In my opinion this is not a great school. The school is new and clean I will give them that credit. This school have behavioral problems with their students and do not know how to handle them. I have reported bulling several times. The principal did not discipline the child. They felt that it was no big deal when my son was coming home crying or calling me from his cell phone crying. It my be a different experience for the elementary students but horrible for junior high. A kid broke something that belonged to my child and the principal told him he did not have to pay for it. I will be so glad when this school year is over this school was a disappointment. Also they teach everyone on the same level. If your child is advanced or need additional help they can not accommodate your need. I would not recommend this school if you do not live in the community for convenience. This school really need to get a sense of reality while working with children in this society. Their attitude toward discipline is to passive. Chino police is always at this school dealing with out of control children that the school can not handle.

The school might be small but it is an excellent school. The Principal and Vice Principal are attentive and great overall with the parents students and with how they conduct the school. The teachers do an excellent job and deserve great praise. The only qualm I have heard from other parents is that the office aide/secretary in the main office has been known to be selectively rude and unfriendly to some parents & students without a reason other than her personal judgment of them it seems. Having said that it is still a great school and the actual educators are great with the parents and students of all backgrounds.

The School is new and is a community school that will have your kids from K-8 before change to Chino Hills high so the relationship with teacher friends & family of the community is long term. It is very hard to find these quailty plus Dr Park is the new principal our school has been selected as a 2012 recipient of the California Distinguished School Award!! Great Job everybody and I'm sure our API score this year under the leadership of Dr Park and her staff will be way over 900!!

This is an excellent school the faculty the after school staff. The kids only complain is that they have to eat outside were there are a lot of flies and sometimes is too windy.
