Gateway/End-of-Course (GT/EOC)

In 2011-2012 Tennessee used the Gateway/End-of-Course (EOC) exams to test high school students in language arts, math, science and social studies upon completion of relevant courses. This year they introduced two new exams in algebra II and English III. Students must pass the algebra I, English II and biology I tests, called the Gateway exams, in order to graduate. The Gateway/EOC exams are standards-based tests that measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Tennessee. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

I think Rossview High School is the best high school in the district. They actually have tight disipline. You can't even have a cell phone out with getting a disipline referal. (Depending on the teacher that is.) It may sound bad but it's good. Kids out our school actually behave. If you have problems with bullying friend in a crisis etc. The vice principals or the guidance counselers will actually take time to talk with you and fix the problem immediately.I like how they help students prepare for college early. Also how they have something called a "Credit Recovery" for students who fail a course one nine weeks. Overall I'm happy I'm attending this school. )

I am currently a sophmore in Rossview high and was rezoned from CHS by the county right before I started my freshman year. People weren't horrible per say but they didn't have very nice things to say to me regardless and after the few times of trying to tell what was going on I gave up because the faculty /just wouldn't listen/. They seem more involved in the sports area than trying to help the average student get a good education and if you're in a low-key club or not even in one you don't get the time of day. Teacher's play favourites(mainly the louder show-offy ones) and aren't as invested in their subject as you'd like.

My child has been going to this school two weeks or more now and I must say this school is unacceptable. She deals with prejudice a lot and she has been gettin bullied. The students are out of control in class and the teachers are afraid to do anything about it.

I'm very pleased with Rossview School my son has been a member for 2 years now and they are great. It gives you the impression that as if it was a private school.

As a junior here at Rossview High I can't say that I have much to complain about. However I do know there are a few teachers who have probably been teaching just a little too long. It'd be nice to get some active teachers teaching my classes. If the teachers had a true intrest in the subject I know I will. Other than that I'm happy with the way things are run. Highschool for me is not all that bad and honestly sometimes I prefer being here than at home.

i am a student here at RHS and i think this is a well kept school also a well organized facility

This school doesn't even deserve one star. I just graduated from RHS this past year and honestly it was the worst four years of my life. The teachers there are more concerned with making sure the football players are passing than the average student. It seemed that they also played favorites with the more priveleged student. I faced a lot of prejudice there and in my opinion dont think i received a quality education. If you are and average class student i would suggest moving to another zoning area.

I have been a Rossview High parent every year from the opening. The administration faculty and staff are outstanding and focused on student achievement. The academic programs continue to grow to challenge our students and prepare them for the future. This focus on academics has been rewarded with wonderful test scores (ACT and SAT) for our students and RHS graduates attending the top universities. The extra-curricular activities are successful and well supported. Rossview High is a great school! I commend everyone in the RHS community including students and parents for contributing to RHS's outstanding reputation.

I have one child attending Rossview and the past few years have been wonderful. I can not speak for other parents but Rossview has turned out to be a welcome challenge for my child. It also boasts a variety of top ranked sports and some of the best faculty in the county. It also offers many AP and Honors classes. For the college prep path i can not think of another school in the area i would recomend. It also boasts a good variety of technical classes as well as outstanding leadership and extracurricular activites

The only school in Montgomery county with a strings group. Students consistently place high in local and regional music contests.

I have had 2 kids at RHS and despite the vast differences in them in gifts and personality they have each recieved good care and guidence frequently when the kids themselves were less than helpful. The Staff know them and me by name and always bent over backwards to contact me for IEP meetings. My son has ADD and bless his heart is just a low academic acheiver but they NEVER stop trying to help him.

I am sorely disappointed in this school. The administrative staff does not even take the time to listen to your concerns. I have been at the school wanting to speak with a principal and told he was too busy to see me but would talk to me on the phone from the reception area! I have complained to no avail. Their only concern seems to be their athletics and parents and students of their chosing. Once they label a student there is no help for them. They just give up and move on.

I have been sadly disappointed with Rossview High since moving here this fall. I have a 15 yr. old son with ADHD who has fallen through the cracks of their 'special education' program. No one even tries to make contact with me regarding my son's lack of academic success but let him get a detention and the phone doesn't stop! No child left behind? I beg to differ!!

Rossview High School is wonderful! I can't say enough good things about the principal and all the staff at Rossview. They truly care about the students and provide a safe learning environment for everyone. I've always felt 'welcome' by both the office personnel & faculty. Rossview's facility is awesome - the building and equipment are 'state of the art.' The academic programs are great and the test scores are some of the best! Parents are very involved in the school including sports and extracurricular activities. I've had one child graduate from Rossview and have another currently attending. I've been completely satisfied.
