Academically this schools is sound. However there is not a whole lot of opportunities for students that are not athletes. 80% of the student body participates in sports. There is not alot of extracurricular or leadership opportunity unless you are amongst the few elite children of alum's or staff. Do not let the Viking Village fool you!!

This school does an admirable job of forming dynamic students. Not just athletes or scholars but genuinely well rounded individuals.

My 2 sons went to VASJ after being accepted at Lake NDCL. And St Ignatius. VASJ was the best choice my family could have ever made for our sons. It is an exceptional school with dedicated teachers and a family Christ centered learning enviorment. My children were prepared for college and the real world. They made friends from a diverse student body of wealthy and poor black and white the real world. They also learned how critical thinking skills in addition to the facts. They are prepared for college and business. Sports programs are state championship quality but yet VASJ is small enough where you can participate in multiple sports. Many of our students are 2 to 3 sport athletes and many letter their freshman or sopomore year in one of the sports. I could not be happier with the school.

VASJ is a great school! The teachers have enough time to give each student the individual attention required to succeed. Bullying is not a problem at VASJ and unlike most high schools there are practically no cliques. The student body is like a family always willing to help one another and you know everyone. The only downside that most of the student body complains about is that the school is too small. Overall it is a great school it just needs to be bigger.

VASJ is a fantastic school. My child is a 2010 grad. Academically he was exceptionally prepared for college. Athletically he lettered in multiple sports given an opportunity to participate with dedicated coaches that I am not sure is available elsewhere. Once a Viking always a Viking. I highly recommend this school.

I am an 80's era alumni. My 2 sons and daughter went to the school and I could not ask for a better education for a real world education in spirituality academics and athletics.

I am a 2006 alumna of VASJ. I am in my senior year at Miami University applying to law school. I loved my experience at VASJ. My brothers went to Gilmour which is a great school but I loved the spirit diversity and educational atmosphere at VASJ. The spirit is absolutely unreal. The sports games and pride gives me chills to this day. The diversity has built me into a much better person and I find myself much better socializing in real life apposed to those who grew up in more homogeneous schools. The school was great lot's of professors who were proud/happy to be there which led to good teachers and a solid education. Loved this place!!! I would highly recommend it
