Buckeye Middle School

I'm somewhat pleased with Buckeye's special education department. I believe there's a special ed teacher named Ms.Lay she's very helpful & pleasant unlike the other staff members. I'm very pleased keep up the good work!

I think that buckeye is a great school I am going there for 6th grade next year but even though I don't go there i took a great tour with a awesome tour guide!!! There is no way I wouldn't want to go there!!

I loved Buckeye and everything it had for me when I attended there I am now 28 and very thankful

I feel Buckeye Middle School is a safe place for kids. There is an adult staff person who is their crosswalk person daily to cross the children across the street safetly. the Teachers there go out of their way to attend each child's needs. They give up their lunch periods just to tutor kids who need it or help with their homework. They come to child's birthday parties the socialize with parents on a 1 on 1. This school is truely a pleasant school.

The teachers and staffalways welcome you with a smile and a are always friendly and courteous.

I when to the school and i love it

this place is awsome but there not strict they are just passionate about learning and they love having fun abd the princabel is very nice but if your bad you are gonna get in troubel ok i love it there people are so nice

My son has attended Buckeye Middle School for 3 yers now. there is alot of fights i dont hear about them everyday. my son hasnt been involved in one. i think over all it is a good school lets face it parents you being on person how well do you think you would act when dealing with 600 kids ??? i think alot of the problem is the kids act like the parents in most cases and go to school and do nothing but start trouble and run their mouths !! i wonder where they get it from at some point you cant blame everyone else you have to look at what you are doing as a parent to add to the problem ! there is alot of caring and trusting teachers at this school who go out of their way to make the kids happy and teach them.look at home !!

my son goes to buckeye middle school and im up there every day because the teachers are sending the kids out for dumb stuff like laughing. anything i wouldn't recommend any parent to send there student there and the teachers are not even that smart and the way they eat lunchis stupid because they have the boys out side while the girls eat then the girls outside while the boy's eat it's outraegous how they are running this school thank god the end of the year is here cause i was getting fed up with them and there mess

I do not like the way this school is run. They have a homework e-mail and i sign up and they don't follow through with it. You can not see the staff at all. I don't like this school and i'm trying to get my granddaughter out of this school. They don't even foolow up with her iep and her slow learning. They treat the children differnt.

I currently have a child in the 7th grade at Buckeye and it is going ok. I was very worried to send him there last year just b/c of everything you hear but he really wanted to go there to stay with his friends. After agreeing I found it not to be all that bad but yes improvements are needed as many schools are in Columbus. My son has not had any problems with teachers or kids but he does tell me about a lot of fights almost everyday. However I attended Cols. schools and sometimes that's just how it is. (Sad to say) Over all my son has done great academically and has great grades so I would say that they are doing good.

The principal. Mrs. Minshall (sp?) is not very nice to parents or students. It seems that she has an attitude that she's so much better than any one else. I think it's a very stressful learning environment.

May be a wonderful school for children without learning disabilities or behavior problems but terrible for those with them. My experience has shown me if the student requires any extra effort on the part of any faculty there (except the nurse) they will surely be one child left behind. I attended Buckeye Middle School for 3 years and I learned a lot and it is a very kept together school. The teachers are very strict in the learning environment but also like to have a good time with the students. There are many extra curricular activities available and many people put down this school because of the middle schools around it. It is definitely one of the better in the South Side Columbus area.

Academic programs -library was sparse almost empy -many motivated teacher especially in writing. I was shocked at the focus on punishment at the welcome to middle school inital meeting.The principal discussed every aspect of expulsion detention till I thought i was in a Juvenile Rehab facilty.I think more focus should be placed on postives and less expection of negative behaviors. Many sports opportunities including soccer & volleyball.Dr Spanheimer seemed to clean up this school.

My daughter attends Buckeye Middle School and I am very pleased with this school. I was worried about the transistion going from Elementary to Middle school for her but she loves it the teachers are caring and are always there to answer any questions I may have. My daughter loves school and and is doing very well academically she made honor roll this first grading period. I amvery happy with this school I have a friend who is considering taking her son out of a charter school and enrolling him in Buckeye next year.

I'm not sure what to say about this school that my daughter currently attends and my son is about to attend. Overall am I happy with this school? No I am not. I do not feel that this school has the tools to insure quality education for my two children. I feel that it lacks parent involvement teacher involvement and extracurricular activities for the students. I have researched the test scores for this school and many surrounding others and the scores speak for themselves. I feel that this school like many others in this area lack the financial resources needed to fund quality teachers. I feel that this school provides substandard teaching at best. In my opinion any parent who is honest with themselves would admit if they had the opportunity to provide their child with a better education than what is bieng provided now at this shcool they would.

I have a child currently attending 7th grade and I have always found the Principal and her support staff very helpful. I can not think of a better school for my kids to attend and I am thankful that my now High Schooler was able to go to this school. They set the bar high in education as well as behavior. Thank you!

My daughter attended Buckeye Middle School her 6th grade year before our new home was built. To be quite honest I was scared to death to have her attend this school. Come to find this school proved to be better than the middle school in a nice area that we moved to. The principals at Buckeye are awesome! Kudos to them for making the kids walk a straight line.
