I love south high school it made me feel very safe and I was around friendly people. I go to Centennial now because I thought it would be better for me but now I realize how much I miss South and all the things I gained from South. I will be returning back to South next year for my senior year because South is the school I want to graduate from and is very proud of. I am always a Bulldog whether I'm in a new school or not. South Pride!

I think that South High is a very safe school considering the environment surrounding it. You cannot blame the school for the neighborhood it sits in. The administration and staff take time to keep our children safe. Parent participation needs a lot of improvement. I ask that Parents that have available time invest that time into your child at South High. If you don't have extra time make some your child is worth the sacrifice and more! Statistics show that when a parent is supportive both at home and in the school that the child does well academically. Parent Consultant/Booster Coordinator

This is a pretty good school. As a recent alumni I speak mostly unbiased and with in depth knowledge of the school since I lived and breathed South for four years. South needs improving but no school is perfect! South offers a good education and experiences that will shape your child into a well rounded student. If you believe that children should not be sheltered and need to have a small dose of the real world before getting out there if you believe in dedication and excellence if you believe in success then South is the school for you.

I think this school is a bad school and it doesn't have anything to offer for my children. It's an all black school and there isn't mixtures of any other race. Also it's not the safest at all because even when you dress nice you get beat up. The teachers have no control over these students. It is not up to date with cleaness and technology. The people who work for the school will also try to do ANYTHING to keep your child there. To me that school is a bad school for any child to learn in!

i agree with Richard Lawson they lost some good teachers throughout the years. The teachers are more helpful to the students than they are themselves. Unlike West High School. The teachers EARN their paycheck.

I think that South High School Urban Academy is the best high school in the country. It is not the safest but it is the best in Academics and teacher quality. This school deserves to have a trophy for how good it is. When I look at South High school i just say that is the school that all of my children are going to go to if i have any.
