Our relationship began in 2012 when my grand daughter began Kindergarten. This is our second year and I love Southwood. The teaching staff is excellent. They display a genuine love and concern for the students. I send her to school knowing that her extended family (the staff and teachers) will take excellent care of her. I forgot to mention that she has an IEP.

Southwood elementary has returned to it's original building - one that has been 100% renovated & up-dated with bright airy rooms each complete with 4 computers (and a restroom). The new facilities will inspire any and all students to great academic works!

I've had my son in this school for the last 3 years. I have had a good experience with the teachers and principal. But I agree with the other review when they say there isint enough security! Hopefully with the new building security will improve.

School rates high in discipline with a no tolerance policy. Rates low on safety- Safety issues with playground as I never see security if it even exists. Low parent involvement with classes on field trips.
