Most teachers are willing to help students after school if they need it. I only wish the school as a whole could be more one on one with students. Not all children learn the same.

Westland is a good school and a bit better than Columbus City schools. Always able to talk to all teachers and staff. Many students are from apartments and constantly moving around. Sports are below adverage and no parent support. No more trouble that any other school. It is what you want to make of your school and life. If you look for trouble anywhere you can find it and if you look to better yourself it can also be found here.

My Daughter has attended this school for 3 1/2 years. She is a honor student and is involved in pretty much everything at the school. Go to a columbus public school and then go to Westland Then compair the two because you can't. It's the best school in Columbus of course but it's not the worst. They do have great teachers if you want to learn if you are willing to care about your child enought to get involve in what they do at school then you might not be so fast to said bad things about this school. My daughter has got a great education and leadership at Westland. How many football games have you been too. That's what I thought.Support you school that your so fast to judge.

The main office is not efficient. Annually the office staff remove the non-custodial parent from the record then that non-custodial parent has to make time to visit school during hours to get added back into system. School gets the poorest rating possible as far as communication with non-custodial parents.

A typical suburban school with a great music program wonderful teachers and a moderate sports program. Ap classes are limited by how many students show interest in the class so not all programs are available.

The school has become an inner city school with inner city problems. ex low test scores bullying on campus and low expectations by teachers community and students. Overall an average school.

I currently attend Westland. I am an honor student and very involved in the school. I have heard others who do not attend the school say that it is bad with drugs and drinking...I disagree. Westland is what you make of it if you want to suceed you will if you slack off and dont care neither will the teachers. If you show even the slightest sign of wanting to suceed the teachers will help you in any and every way possible. I love Westland and all the oppertunities it offers. Please dont criticize it until you have witnessed the school in action.

I am a 1997 graduate of Westland and I'll be the first to tell you that it is not by any means the greatest school around. However the teachers care about their students and will bend over backwards for a student if they show any willingness to try. There have been rumors about it being a 'rough' school but I don't think it is more than any other school. I would recommend Westland to any parent and would be happy to send my children there (when that time would come).

I have not liked Westland since my brother started there. The administration has very little control. There are a group of students that get special treatment that the rules do not apply to. Westland High School is not a 'great school' and should not be referred to as one. I cannot wait to move so I will not have to attend any longer.

I go to Westland High School. This will be my 3rd year. The learning atmosphere is what you make of it. If you're wanting to be there the teachers can be very helpful. The school has a bad reputation and it's not totally correct. But there are times when you can feel some fear there were a lot of fights the '03-'04 year. I didn't feel safe but the teachers and administrators do work very hard to get situations under control. There does need to be a little closer watch on students though it's not right for students who want to learn to come to school and be in an environment with kids who don't want to be there.

My daughter has attended Westland High School for the last three years and loves it. I also graduated from Westland. If there is one thing I have learned about the difference between teenagers today and teenagers when I went to school is - there is no difference. The more things change the more they stay the same. If you go to school to get an education you will get one. Most all of the students at Westland go to school to get an education and the teachers there are more than willing to help them reach their goals.

Westland does have a bad reputation among the community. It really isn't as bad as everyone says. The teachers care about students and my kids have never felt threatened or unsafe at school.
