Yorktown is an amazing school that gets a bad reputation from the past but it has really changed in the past three years and has been cleaned up a bit. I am a student here and we have many clubs groups sports teams and other educational opportunities for all types of students. It really is a great school!

The teachers communicate very well with parents and care about the students. There are a variety of learning opportunities.

I absolutely HATE this school. this is my sons second year here and the teachers still can't pronounce his last name. He is hearing racial comments and names everyday. he is failing and has never had a grade lower than a C in any other school he has attended. He was assaulted on the school bus and the driver never even noticed when I called in about it they never did any follow up nor could I ever get the Principal on the phone. When he struggled with class work the teacher had the nerve to tell him he was "being lazy". My son is now referring to school as "prison". If my son ends up failing this year I am doing home schooling next year without a second thought. This school is a whole in the wall in my book one of the worst schools in the worth distract I'm very disappointed in myself as a parent that I can't afford to move to a better school distract.

I am a former student of Yroktown. I thought the school was great and really prepared me for high school. They have great after school activities. The teachers there are great and are willing to help students in any problem areas. I would reccomend this school to anyone looking for a middle school close to home.

I like the school overall but I find it aggraviting when I would like to talk to a teacher and they do not respond to my calls and I even gave the receptionist my e mail and I still have not heard from anyone.

This school like many of the Columbus Public School's Middle Schools has a staggering number of students with undiagnosed behavior problems and an unfortunate amount of teachers who share their perosnal business with the students. I dont feel that my child received an adequate education as most of the work was done on dittos with no books for review for proper or reiterated instruction on how to complete the assignments.

I would just like to say that although it is the beginning of the school year I am very impressed with the way the new principle and vice principle have changed things. I believe that their dedication to the students of Yorktown is also affecting the teachers involvement with the children and the parents. I think that the changes that have come about in this school this year have made it quickly come up from last year which was very poor. Teacher are more in control this year and rules are more inforced as well which provides a happy positive additutde for everyone involved.
