What I Like About My House
Amy Bohutinsky — I knew we would buy this house the minute we walked into it. (although it took me two weeks to help my husband reach this same conclusion). Our home is one of the lucky Seattle Craftsmen to survive 100 years with original hardwood floors, crown molding and beautiful leaded glass windows in front. Somehow, of all the families who have lived here over the decades, no baseballs have ever flown through those front windows, and no wives like me have given into our husband's pleas to scrap the old windows' charm for a more energy efficient version. I will never give in. I love our big front porch, and a big glass of wine out front when the work day is over and the baby is asleep. But most importantly, I love that we started our family here. We first walked into this home one month after we were married, and a year later, walked our new baby son through the front door. To him, it's the only home he's ever known.
