What I Like About My House
Christopher Roberts — Home is where my family is, so I have to say that what I love most about my house is that it's home to my wife and I and our four children. Our youngest daughter would tell you that there are some monsters living in it too. We have great neighbors. Many of them have children the same ages as ours and they're definitely families we can count on when we have problems big or small. As our family expanded, our house needed to grow a bit too. I'm definitely of the opinion that going through hardships with close companions makes for stronger relationships. While adding a bedroom and bathroom to our 1920's home, I discovered that this applies to our relationships with our houses as well. A few weeks into the project, our contractor told us that a previous owner had removed a load-bearing wall in the basement and that our main floor was a bit like a trampoline. As a result, we had the "opportunity" to do extra work. Our house is now much more customized to our quirky tastes and interest in contemporary art.
