What I Love About My House

Kathleen Philips — I live with my husband and son in a 90-year-old house in the Sea Cliff neighborhood of San Francisco. My husband grew up down the street from our house and, as a young boy, he walked by our house daily on his way to and from school. My favorite thing about our house is that my son can lie in his bed and gaze at the Golden Gate Bridge in one direction and the whole beautiful city in the other. We are lucky to be surrounded by wonderful neighbors who make our street feel like a small town of its own. My favorite neighbors have lived in the house next door to ours for more than fifty years. Both in their eighties, they walk around the block holding hands every day. They inspire all of us with their devotion to one another and love for the place we are lucky enough to live.
