What I Love About My House

Tony Small — We bought our house in Issaquah, Wash., in 2005, shortly before the birth of our first child, Taylor. Issaquah is a great town for raising a family. We love the community, the schools, the countless parks, and being close enough to both the city (20 minutes by express bus) and skiing (35 minutes by car). When we moved from California to Washington, we first wanted to live closer to Seattle. We found, however, that we could afford a lot more for each additional mile east, and as we started driving through the pretty neighborhoods of Issaquah (and saw kids biking, playing, and selling lemonade), we quickly became sold. Besides the location, we fell in love with the house because of the open feel of the floor plan, and it has just enough space to keep us (now a family of 4) both close and, when needed, sane. We'll probably consider moving in a few years (our house isn't great for a dog, which my kids really really really want), but we'll continue to enjoy Issaquah and our home for some time.
