Straughn like all schools has its problems. What makes it a great school is the way we overcome those problems. This school prepares you for so much more than college-it prepares you for the life you will face when you graduate. Many smart and successful people have graduated from SHS even if the recognition is not recieved from the city of Andalusia. We have learned praise is not guaranteed when you do a good job and that you do it because it is the right thing to do. As a county school we are more closely knit together than a city school would be and make friends that will last us all our days. Im proud to be considered a Straughn Tiger.

If you are looking for education then honestly Straughn is not number one. If you are looking for a great place for your child to go to school to learn life lessons values honesty and other essential core values then Straughn is definitely your school. As an alumni from Straughn and being around students from Andalusia throughout my high school career I can say there is no comparison between the we are better than you 'Andy' attitude and the close-nit family feel with Straughn

I am a former student of Straughn High School. I now attend Andalusia High School. I have been on both sides of the fence and it is a lot greener on the other side. I read all the reviews about how great Straughn is which were filled with many grammar errors and I feel that the truth needs to be told. When I was in Straughn School I was not challenged. All you have to do you listen and do your homework and you have an A in the class. At Andalusia High School you have to work hard to get an A. Andalusia prepares you for college better than Straughn. How many times do you read about a grauduate from Straughn High School becoming a doctor or lawyer? There is someone at least once a week who graduated from Andalusia High School in the newspaper for their accomplishments.

Straughn is the best high school that I could have ever gone to. I graduated last year. I am proud to say that I am still a straughn tiger at heart. And that I miss going there.

Straughn High School is the best high school in the US. We are the fastest growing school in the county avg. about 500 students...The only people that think Straughn is bad are those students who hate school. All of my friends love it and so do I. I have gone to this school since 1st grade and are going into 10th. Straughn deserves better than an excellent rate.

Straughn High School is one of the best. Instead of the usual kids that stand on the side-line there is a group for everyone. The principal is wonderful and he doesn't show any favoritism. You can rest assured that your child is safe and is getting one of the best educations in the county.

As a former student at Straughn School I feel the academics of this school is extremely exceptional and provides experienced and knowledgeable faculty to execute curriculum to broaden each and every students minds and help each student to maintain and reach their highest goal possible.

Straughn School is a excellent school. You shouldn't say negative comment's about a school that your child attend's. What kind of impression does that make? That's what's wrong with this world today. Let's not criticize the kids that play's sports That is someone child and a parent that is proud.

My daughter has attended Straughn since the 3rd grade. Yes there have been issues but overall I think this is the best school in the county. My daughter has aspirations to be a pediatrician in the missonary field. If it has not been for several of her teachers she would not have the courage to aspire to this lofty goal. I praise the administration and faculty for challenging these students. I support this facility fully.

Straughn is considered a good country school and I guess as far as public schools go it is okay. The problem is that parents concerns are not taken as seriously as they should be. When you point out a problem you are given a 'we'll take care of it' answer while the issue goes unresolved. The elementary portion of the school is really good but the Jr. and Sr. High need a lot of revamping. My kids don't feel they are being challenged academically nor do they even feel safe there. As an alumni of SHS I am very disappointed in what the school has evolved into.

I think SHS is very nice school because I go there. Of course football players and cheerleaders are treated better but thats at any school. Our school's population is steadily increasing so that must tell you something. And Andalusia is a nice school don't get me wrong but everyone would prefer SHS. I have been there since kindergarten and I personally love it!

Straughn School is a very good school. It is not behind as for as acedemics. I am proud that my children are in Straughn School. There are alot of good Christian people there to guide our children the right way.

My child would much rather go to Montevallo or Red Level instead of here. She feels she is not safe there.

Straughn is a horrible school. I am a student and feel that I am way behind surrounding schools. If I had a choice of schools in our area I would have to go with Andalusia. Their test scores and extra curricular activities our far more developed than ours.

I'm not a parent I was a student there. I loved Straughn. It was 3 of the best years of my life. It showed me that not all people were bad and that I could actually have a healthy learning enviornment. The teachers really cared and they helped any way they could.

straughn is the best school ever! the teachers make it fun and at the same time chalenging for the students to learn new things everyday. My child comes home and is excited about doing her work and never wants to miss a day of school. The pricipal strugles to interact with the students and provides the best for each individual.

This school is very nice. Andalusia people tend to not like it b/c andalusia is losing alot of its population and money to straughn b/c its so much better. It has a way better atmosphere its friendlier safer and the kids get along alot better. And speaking of football straughn has made the playoffs for the last 12 years and beat andalusia this past year. Andalusia hasn't even made the playoffs in about 6 years so how they get the idea that they're good at football noone in the entire county knows.

This school is horible. But not near as bad as its football team wich is one of the worst I have seen in years. I think they are called the tigeretes. Unlike rival ANDALUSIA who has a far more superior football program
