This is an excellent school. Although it is the oldest high school in Forsyth County it is by far the best in terms of caring teachers challenging academics availability of athletic programs drama chorus the STEM Academy and home of the Flash of Crimson (one of the best band programs in the southeastern US). My kids love this school and did not want to go anywhere else when given the option. Yes there are newer high schools in Forsyth County but they cannot come close in comparison to Central. Just because other schools in the county might be shiny and new that does not make them a better school. There is a pride that emanates from FCHS students as they navigate their way through their high school experience. They graduate this school with skills and experiences that have enriched their lives and have prepared them for the road ahead. There is no better high school in Forsyth County. I am the proud parent of two current students and one FCHS honors graduate. If you want your child to get an excellent education and have fun in sports band STEM or other activities along the way enroll them in Forsyth Central. They will love it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Please do not send your child here.. We came from West and have continually been disappointed. Most of the teachers are not knowledgeable the school itself is poorly run and outdated. The administration is unhelpful. There is a growing drug/alcohol problem although that seems to be prevalent at many schools in this county. Forsyth central has to be the worst school I've seen to date... a joke to the county. If you want a good school Lambert West or South are your best bet.

I have 2 children attending Forsyth Central and have had a fantastic experience. We attended another South Forsyth high school in years past and found Forsyth Central to be the most diverse high school in the county! We love it here! The administrative personnel could not be more accommodating and friendly.

Just a warning stay as far away as you can. It is really a shame to have this school in the county.

I am in the STEM program at Central and am LOVING IT. Other schools are defensive and talk about their IB programs which are good but in the science and math sector STEM exceeds. People talk about racism but you will not encounter that any more than at other schools. The teachers are almost all supportive and willing to help. Central gets a bad reputation because it is the oldest school and people think that is bad. However it is a lot more put together then some of the others.

I have gone to many schools and lived in many places but I wouldn't trade Central for anything. to all the people talking about racism there is racism EVERYWHERE in EVERY TOWN. Central is not racist and is a very successful school. Yes the school mostly very conservative and to me that is a problem. Not having a huge political spectrum that is. But Central is an amazing place.

Central is a good school but and they have their issues with violent students racism is alive at this school i will be removing my child from this school it's a shame that your ethnicity is a factor with some individuals

Please note FCHS is the home of the new STEM Academy (Science Technology Engineering and Math). This is a VERY rigorous program and not for the faint of heart. They have an excellent band program. The drama program is well-supported and the chorus is coming along nicely. Some of the teachers are very good at following I.E.P.s (Individual Educational Programs and some are DECIDEDLY not! However I will reserve my full judgment until my child graduates.

Its an ok school there are alot of haters at this school. Unless your white it is pretty hard to be a stand out student. The reason for that is racism. Anyways you want great schools Go to Santa Ana Ca and Orange county California. Its a better life over here!

I absolutely LOVE this school. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. My teachers are very wonderful and I love them all. I have friends that attend other schools in the county and they all say that FCHS is the best! Class of 2013!

I have two children who are currently attending FCHS. They are very diffeerent from each other and both have found wonderful experiences with FCHS. One child is very involved int he drama department. We could not have been happier when we found out that FCHS was the county's school that offered a career pathway from dramatic arts! Our other child is athletic and participates in several school sports. Both children take AP courses and standard classes as well. They had a desire to learn Greek which was not offered but there is was a teacher who agreed to meet with them on her own time and teach them Greek! Our experience has been a wonderful one at FCHS!

Most desirable school in the area! Large enough to offer a large variety of classes yet small enough that every student can be involved!

I attended Central and loved it. I graduated in 2005 and enjoyed four wonderful years there. I had many caring teachers who encouraged me and also participated in multiple extracurricular activities. Forsyth Central offers a wealth of courses and a variety of extracurricular activities. my

Wonderful school dedicated and caring teachers harworking and caring students both my daughters are graduates of this school and went on to successful college careers.

My 4 children attended Central & they are all successful students at Georgia Tech & UGA. Every one of our children were encouraged to do his & her best & work hard by the dedicated teachers & the wonderful counseling staff. I get tired of hearing other parents complain if their children were not 'given' grades. Children need to work to achieve & Central cares about teaching their students responsibility.

The students are as exhausted as the teachers. The school scores fairly low on the new SAT. No effort to teach these kids how to think; hence they forfeit their imaginations in exchange for tests they could take over and over again until they got an acceptable grade. Good school? Don't believe the hype.

Where are the black students at Central?

I'm a part of the 2003 graduated class of central. We had a great principal (Kenny Fox. great man). Teachers were great if you strove to put yourself into the AP classes and the more advanced classes. I'm a third semester student at Georgia Tech right now and i feel coming here that i had plenty of preperation for this tough college. It was a really safe school with a really great art program great drama bad football and state recognized band. I'd say overall i think i got one of the better schools in the state. But they won't force your student to take the more difficult classes... you'll have to do that yourself. They are there if you want them at FCHS and the environment is great.
