I went to DeSoto School my entire life and I can tell you right now it has not gotten any better. My child goes to DeSoto Junior High and they don't even have enough text books for the classes. They have to share books in class and they aren't allowed to take them home. I wouldn't reccomend anyone putting their children in this school.

I have had 4 kids go through De Soto Junior High and have to say that I have been very pleased with what they have gotten out of their education. None of my kids were ever forced into tutoring it has always been optional for them. I have only had one real problem with one particular teacher and she is now retired. I can't imagine a better place for my kids to attend. The administration is very eager to reward the kids for their map test scores and are very proud of what the kids have accompolished. I think most people would be proud to say that our kids go to such a great school with administration and teachers that are as supportive as these are.

The school doesn't offer enough programs or help for average kids struggling with their grades. The kids need more encouragement to succeed.

Desoto Jr. High is an excellent school however I wish they would give parents more of an opportunity to help their child academically rather than force them into an afterschool tutoring program. Parents need to be involved in their child's academic progress.

This school is an excellant choice. The students and teachers are great. Iam an 8th grade student here at DJHS. I was a cheerleader last year. The after school activities are great. We have Art Club Sport Intermurals Quiz Bowl science club Trend Dragons Against Drugs and 7th and 8th grade volleyball basketball track cross country and cheerleading teams. We also have an 8th grade foot ball team. We have N.J.H.S. student council year book staff and the renaissance program. We have three wonderfull choirs and an awesome band. Our MAP test scores are always great and we study really hard for the MAP test. This school is in my oppinion is probably in the top 10 schools in Missouri.
