This is a midsize excellent school. My son was academically successful and social kid until going to Lenape high school. As his parents we noticed that he lost his enthusiasm to school and realized that Lenape is not good for my son. My son hesitate to change his school at first. After talking with Admission director at Holly Cross we had a positive impression but a lot of what if in our mind. Admission director was great transition of my son was smooth. Friendship was great. So many great teachers. Strong leadership of Principle. My son was able to catch up his academic success in many areas made good friends. Furthermore we are not christian we are an interfaith family so we were not sure how to engage and be successful on all the religious classes. It was perfectly designed my son enjoyed from the discussions wonderful teachers. My son developped acceptance understanding in religeous classes. He ended up top 1 in honor history class and had good amounth of scholarship. Now he is going in CUNY system for Political Sciences. It is a wonderful school gave confidence currage faith to my son. Thank you Holy Cross

The best thing you can do for your child and your finances is to do a lot of research into more than one school way before they enter 8th grade; including your local public high school and some other school districts which will allow you to send your child out of district. Besides looking at the tuition and uniform costs there are other fees you will be charged (this school charges hefty fees for registration and a computer rental as well as fees for every activity your child participates in) and touring the facilities you should be easily provided with info regarding SAT averages # of AP courses the financial stability of the school the average tuition increases each year college placement do the teachers have advanced degrees staff and student turnover discipline policies what schools are the students coming from what kind of support comes from the Diocese if any and religious identity if that's important to you. (note there are no discounts for having multiple children here like in the elementary schools). You can also see how teachers are rated on rate your teacher.com. Good luck!

Mr. Guida (now principal) always has a smile on his face and is willing to help ALL students in anyway he possibly can. During my tenure at Holy Cross I passed the AP economics exam the class he taught. My parents and I were ecstatic as this saved us thousands of dollars in college how can you beat that? He is a wonderful teacher and I highly recommend him and the Holy Cross education. Currently I am employed full time in the economics field and a big thanks goes out to Mr. Guida!

My son is a recent graduate of Holy Cross. He received an excellent education there. He was able to get involved in many clubs and activities. Best of all he had many wonderful teachers who went out of their way to help him and showed they cared about his education. He enjoyed school was challenged in Honors and AP classes and would pick Holy Cross over our local public school again if he had the choice. Upon graduation my son received excellent scholarships and was accepted to many of his top choice schools. He received several 5's on his AP tests and scored very high on his SAT's. He is now attending an excellent university thanks to his hard work and the education he received at Holy Cross.

As a former student of Holy Cross I can tell you how wonderful this school is. When I was going into high school I had a choice between Holy Cross and a local public school. At the time I was in the local public school and failing miserably. I went into Holy Cross and for the first time in my life I achieved Honor Roll. Now maybe Holy Cross isn't for everyone but if you are looking for a school with Teachers who care and will take the extra time with their students. Then Holy Cross should be the first place you look. To me is says a lot about a school when so many graduates decide to come back to teach and coach. When you attend Holy Cross you become part of a family and it is life long. Thank you to my parents and family who helped to pay to put me through this school. Without my time spent here I know I wouldn't be where I am today. (And I hope that this school is around for my children)

Don't waste your money! Holy Cross is mediocre at best. The return on your investment does not justify the cost of about $10 000 a year. Ask how many students received higher that a 1 or even 2 on the AP Chemistry exam over the prior 4 years? I have been told it was none. That' right I was told it was none! There are some good teachers and some that are not so good. The facilities need updating both grounds and infrastructure and they have no air conditioning. I can honestly say my expectations were not met as a parent and I would most likely not have sent my child there if I had known. The school maintains a good discipline environment but it is sometimes petty and applied differently depending on whom you are and who you know. If they do not implement some significant changes I don t see how they can survive!!

You gotta be joking a 5 star rating. you can bet its the staff doing the voting. This school is a joke..The principals are liars and the sport programs are run with kids. This school is way over priced. you can get a much better deal at another school..

I have two children who chose Holy Cross over a local public school and are extremely happy with there decision. The teachers are so supportive with helping them reach their goals for college and there is plenty of "school spirit" to keep their energy level high at a crucial period in their lives. Small class size sports and community service are all a part of this wonderful school. Scholarships are in abundance for the students at graduation time.

Excellent school I have one child in college who graduated HCHS and another who is a senior. HCHS has been a wonderful experience for my kids. The teachers go above and beyond everyday. There is alot of tradition and pride. The kids at HCHS are happy and respectful.

Outstanding academics and extra cirricular programs! My three children have all had wonderful high school experiences and made great lifelong friends. All three were accepted at the college of their choice. Faculty is caring and competent. All teachers go out of thie way to help students either academically or with personal problems. The parent 'clubs' for sports & the arts are a great group of people with their children's best interests at heart. I live 2 blocks from the local public high school yet my children chose to go to Cross for the athletics and academics.

I've had three kids go through Holy Cross and my family and I absolutely love the school! They have had a much better high school then I did. HCHS is such a well-rounded school; great academics and extracurricular activities. My kids loved all their teachers and I found them dedicated eager to teach and understanding. All the kids at the Cross are great too!

HCHS exibits strong academics and student unity. Sports are available but not over stressed. Religion plays a strong role for providing direction in a students life but to cult levels as found in some other religious schools. Many parents confuse Violence and Drugs. They are not the same and are not contingent on one another. Holy Cross has very little violence in the atmosphere which sometimes is hard to avoid with adolesents. A few cases of drug use have been seen however usually less than surrounding high schools. We need to remember that your child's first teacher last teacher and most important teacher is the parent(s). Parents are the greatest help in guiding children away from drug habits. Violence is different. Picking a school with little violence is important. Violence can find/harm a 'good' child whereas a 'good' child can defend better against drugs than violence. Overall HCHS scores an A+.

I think that Holy Cross High School is an excellent school it does have the size of a regular high school or offer as many subjects as other schools; however the quality of education and the dedication of the teachers are awesome. I could not afford to send my daughter to Holy Cross but I could not afford not to send her. This has truly been an investment in her education preparing her for college. A lot of her subjects are taught in lectures which when she attends college will be an asset.

I think that HCHS is an extremely overrated school. It does not provide the education and possibilities that some of the surrounding areas could. It is overpriced and does not have a good reputation with drug use.

We love HCHS however it is not a place for kids that are not the best athletes. My son is a very good baseball player made the all stars but could not make their team. However if you want a possitive influence on your child Holy Cross High School is the place to be.

A great family school which prepares you for college. Great sports program. Teachers who care for your child.
