Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA)

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

This school was horrible when my daughter went there about twelve years ago. We had to move to get her out of this school. She was new to the school and she was bullied from day one. I know this can happen at any school so this wasn't the BAD part although it was still bad. My daughter dyed her hair one night and the next day a BOY shoved her into a locker and said "why did you dye your hair freak?" STILL not the bad part. I called the assistant principal the next day to tell him what was going on and he said "We'll why did she dye her hair?" REALLY???? Needless to say we had a battle at this point. We moved shortly thereafter. Would NEVER recommend this school to anyone.

I recommend this school to anyone. My daughter loves it there. If I wasn't from Virginia Beach I would've wanted to go there. There are many opportunities to get involved in sports religous activities after school and just to have fun. My husband went to Derry and now is very intelligent. The teachers keep in touch with me on the regular basis. I really like this school for my daughter.
