I AM A FORMER GRADUATE OF HENRY FORD AND HAVE HEARD ABOUT ALL THE CHANGES SOME GOOD BUT MOST BAD. WITH MIND FRAME OF LOCAL GOVERMENT AND TEACHERS ATTITUDES TOWARDS STUDENTS THEY ARE NO LONGER THE CARRAIGE THAT TOTALLY TAKES YOUR CHILD TO THE NEXT STEP OF GETTING YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER INTO COLLEGE. TO GET WHAT YOU FEEL YOUR CHILD DESERVES THE ALONG WITH THE STUDENT MUST TAKE ON THE RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THE STUDENT GETS ACCESS TO WHAT THE SCHOOL MIGHT NOT OFFER. WITH THAT BEING SAID IS FORD A GOOD OR BAD SCHOOL NO NOT AT ALL. CASS TECH DESPITE ITS GRADIOSO IMAGE OF THE PAST ISN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE. RENNISANCE IS THE SAME JUST IN ASPANKING NEW BUILDING WITH THE SAME TEACHERS AS IN ANY OTHER PUBLIC SCHOOL. THE KEY TO BETTER EDUCATION IN FORD IS NOT JUST MAKING SURE YOUR KID GETS TO SCHOOL BUT AS A PARENT GETTING INVOLVED AND SEEING WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE TO MAKE NOT ONLY YOUR CHILD BUT FORD A BETTER SCHOOL.

This is a very good school. The teachers and staff are very good. They are also the only school that gave jackets to the top 25 honers students. They also has a dinner where they were given their jackets. I had the honer of going to that dinner. The school has problems but they are working on fixing them. I think with help this could be a grate school...

I would've been a graduate of Ford in 2004. I feel like the counselors and the principle were not really interested in helping me graduate. The teachers however were great. Especially 11th grade english teacher Mr. Johnson. He used to say 'I never close the doors of learning to my student's.'

I would've graduated here class of 2001 but I ended up moving out of town this school provided me with experience and transition to young adulthood that I will always remember the teachers here at least most of them at that time worked very hard to keep us educated and to show us the importance of our then education and taking it to the next level. Considering what they had to work with I would say they were the best teachers I had had the oppurtunity to get to know and learn from in my entire school career. I'm sure had the school itself (meaning the budgets and resources they had available to them) the teachers would have been able to do far more than I know a lot of them wanted to do at that time.

If this were the last school on earth I would not send my child here. The administrative staff doesn't have a clue about running a comprehensive high sdhool.

As a graduate of the Downriver school system I was shocked to see the less than adiquate test scores that seemed to be quite common among the Detroit School Systems. After finding 45 high schools in Detorit I can honestly say thanks to Detroit for singlehandedly bringing down the state average for standardized test scores. My school didnt get any government giveaways heck we didnt even get pencils but we are at least 60% higher in scores. Shape up and stop making MI look bad.

I'm currently a student at Henry Ford and I think our school is a great school to learn in. Out of all the teachers I would say about 97% give it their all. I learn something everyday at school. Especially in my geography teacher Mr. Nowotny's class. Great Detroit Public School!

I taught @ Henry FOrd H.S. for 26 years. In that time I saw the school deteriorate in spite of the best efforts of the teaching staff. The students were not the problem; it was the lack of parental involvement mediocre local administration and lack of support from the Central Board.
