Jammie Garlock

Jammie Garlock, an agent with JG Homes Inc Team @ Coldwell Banker Sea Coast in
Jacksonville, NC, has achieved 5 million in sales in her first year selling real estate. Because of her hard work and determination, she is on target to achieve the Centurion Award by the end of 2012. She credits her achievements to her commitment to excellent customer service. "My goal is to always exceed my client's expectations." Born in Pennsylvania, and raised in Oklahoma, Garlock served in the US Army for six years. "When we moved to Onslow County, I decided to get my real estate license. I had experience working in that field and I felt I could be of service to other military families who had to relocate like we did." 
Education and training have been indispensable in achieving Garlock's aims. "Though I had years of experience in real estate as a property manager, I had no experience in sales. I have been able to accomplish so much in my first year because of the training I have pursued." She utilizes methods espoused by the coaching company Buffini & Co. for growing her business. "They have taught me how to network with my clients by remaining in contact with them, not only during the sales process, but afterward. It works. My referral business is growing because I stay connected with my clients." Social media has been a valuable tool for maintaining relationships with her customers. "Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn have played an important role in my marketing strategy this year. People want to access information instantly from their phones, and social media allows me to provide that service to them. It makes communication easier for my clients and for me." She also hosts business mixers and appears at community events. "In order to be visible, you have to put yourself out there in the public eye, so people can see who you are." 
Garlock's empathy for her clients, along with her adaptability and enthusiasm for helping people, has made her a success in her chosen profession. "After being in the military for six years, as well as being a married to a Marine, I understand how it feels to relocate to a totally new environment. Most of my clients are military families and I want to make sure they have everything they need to make an informed decision. Not only do I provide them with information about a specific house, but the neighborhood and the schools as well. Everyone I work with is different and has different needs. I listen carefully to my clients so I can tailor my search to their unique requirements." Remaining flexible is another key component to realizing her client's goals.
"Oftentimes, people can only look at houses after work, or on the weekends. I have to be available to them whenever they need me." The gratification that is derived from all her efforts is its own reward. "The aspect of my career that I enjoy most is finding the perfect house for someone and seeing their faces light up when they walk into it. I get so much satisfaction knowing that I helped someone make an important investment in their lives. "

Her first year as a REALTOR® has taught Garlock many lessons, the most significant being that she adores her new career. "If you're going to succeed in real estate, you have to love it. I love working with people and the challenge of finding the ideal home for them. Being a REALTOR® has given me the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about my new home town of Jacksonville. I have made new friends and I look forward to going to work every day."
