A small "martini" deck overlooks a sculpture park across the street. High windows maintain privacy in the master suite without blocking out views. ( RDM Architecture )

  • Occupying a prominent corner in a historic district, the existing house was considered an "non-contributing" structure and certainly didn't fit the language or scale of the surrounding houses. Extensive modifications make the existing house almost unrecognizable and resulted in what we affectionately call the craftsboy style house. While it takes on some craftsman design elements it isn't beholden to the style and instead responds to the site and the surrounding views while the hipped roof gives it a more subtle presence.
