These clients had just finished remodeling and were enjoying Christmas in their new home when their house caught fire. At the time, Seattle was buried under 12" of snow and was paralyzed. Unfortunately, this storm delayed the fire department getting to the site and by the time trucks arrived, the loss amounted to more than $2.2 million. The first year of remodeling was spent gutting the house and helping our client negotiate an insurance settlement. Our redesign maintained the existing shell while reworking interior rooms to create a classic great room home. Both levels were opened to views while flooding the interiors with natural light. The lower level family room tripled in size while creating an additional game area. We reworked the upper level with living spaces flanked by a Master Bedroom and kitchen. The open Great Room and deck create a relaxed and sophisticated environment accentuated by a high level of interior trim/tile and exterior metal railings and light fixtures.
