Ohio Graduation Test (OGT)

In 2013-2014 Ohio used the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) to test students in grade 10 in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. State averages displayed on public school profiles include public schools only. State averages displayed on private school profiles include private schools only. The OGT is a high school graduation requirement for public schools and chartered private schools. The OGT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Ohio. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

I have gone to schools in this district all of my life. Everything is very sports oriented and the arts have been reduced to a minimum recently. The way the sports and scheduling are set up you have to choose what you activity you want to do. You cannot be in marching band and soccer while thing enough classes to earn an honors diploma. Also in grades k-12 there is no form of gifted education.

I am a Tri-Valley alumni from 1984. I have one son in the high school and one in grade school. I have seen many changes in the school and the teaching staff over the years. Many teachers go above and beyond their call of duty to help the kids learn as much as they want to or can learn. The school has gone through many building changes and it seems wonderful to see the ole school being developed into a larger complex. My high school son is in band and the band director is very dedicated in getting each band member to learn and excel with their talents. I try to be involved in the band boosters but I am also involved in Boy Scouts of America and post many overtime hours at work. Keep up the good work Tri-Valley!

I have a son in Tri Valley High School. I am not from this school but a rival school. I feel that my son has excelled from his old school's in Columbus. He has done very well. Due to the way you have set it for the students to have to carry a certain score to play sports. It has made a large impact on my son due to playing numerous sports some of the coaches are not usually up to expectation but they do try. I feel that your teacher areas are really good. I feel confident that the teachers and facualty have done well. I would give Tri Valley High School a very high mark on Teaching and Achivement with each and every student. You have done well for my son he has come from low c's d's and f's to A's B's my son is usually on on the 3.3 and above honor area. Thank You for your Impact.
