My son loves this school! He has made many friends and we both love his teacher Mrs. McGongle as well as the teachers assistant Mr. Hoke. I am so happy we found a school with teachers who care about the kids and challenge them appropriately! She recognized how smart he is and gave him more work instead of acting like he was a problem the was his pre-school did. We couldn't be happier!

I absolutely hate this school 1st off its a little under 3 hrs a day available for the kids to learn so everything is rushed which left the teacher Mrs.Carini inpatient with the kids.Every time I talk to her she sound out of breath and rushed also she never has anything positive to say always negative so glad the school year is over.

The teacher of the P.M class need to be more organized and more specific about homework and everything else.

Not a good school not accomadating send your child some where else if you can. Takes them over 2 weeks to process anything. This is even more true if its a holiday weekend that means the Thursday before and the the Tuesday and Wendnesday after are still part of the holiday weekend don't expect anything to get done.

I don't have much experience with elementary schools since this is my first child enrolling in the kindergarten center but I will say that this school is not very accommodating to that fact. Everything that I learned about the school was found on their website or in a letter from them at the last minute. I was sent a letter early on in the year about enrolling my son for extended care but I was told that you needed to know which session he was in to enroll him in there. When I call to find out what session he is in I am told my a rude staff member that I will receive a letter that will explain all of that and the bus schedules in August when school starts in September. When I get the letter for the bus schedule it just has the times for his kindergarten center session so I call to ask about registering for the daycare program. I am told that people were registering since March and that if I register him now he still wouldn't start until about two weeks later after school began. Even the school supplies and uniform information had to be found online because I received nothing from the school. This school is just highly unorganized and I wish there was another option for my child.

I love the K-Center. My son was having trouble and they were calm with him and helped him along the process. This year they are having more back to school nights so we can have a better understanding of what our children are doing on a daliy basis. I have constant communication with my sons teacher. Either via email or calling and having my call returned or his yellow folder that he has everyday. They also have alot of events that are family oriented . I LOVE THE K-CENTER this is my second time dealing with the K-center and I am very Happy with them!

My son started the kindergarten center and I'm about to take him out asap!!! I cant personally interact with his teachers b/c of the "drop off" and pick up" Practices. I have to communicate with the teachers via a yellow folder that my son brings home everyday! On top of that he only learns for 3hrs in the day b/c its a half day kindergarten! My sons daycare facility taught him better and all day so kindergarten for him has been a break. I expected a more structured enviroment and lesson plan. Oh but lastly the school happily accomodates the fact that both my husband and I are full time employees by having a daycare that runs me over $300 to watch my child from 740-1230(before his kindergarten begins) Its an obvious $ making operation all the while depriving my child of a REAL education.

My daughter just finished up her Kindergarten year in June. I speak for both of us when I say that we will truly miss the UDKC. Like other reviewers have said Kindergarten in one building is ideal! My daughter had Mrs. McGonigle and she is nothing short of wonderful! They will be tough shoes to fill for her upcoming teachers. I would love to keep her in Kindergarten forever - especially after the experience she had here.

I entered my son into this school heavily based on the feedback I received from this site. If I had known that I should have requested a specific teacher I'm sure I would have not been dissappointed. I was extremely dissappointed in my son's teacher. This young teacher spent most of his time disciplining the class. I think his inexperience had a lot to do with why he spent much time chastising rather than teaching. It's unfortunate but this teacher needs lessons on practicing patience with children. He should be mentored by the more experience teachers that are mentioned in the feedback. I couldn't wait til this school year was over!

My daughter goes to the kindergarten center and she absolutely loves it. Most of all she really likes her teacher. I think having just kindergarten in one building was an excellent idea and makes it so much easier for the children to adapt. I wish she could stay there but they do grow up. Now she have a positive attitude about school. Thank You Kindergarten Center!

I love the Kindergarten Center! Principal Sanderson and his staff are so attentive and enthusiastic about the Kindergarten Learning Program. The school has excellent curriculum and interactive tools to use at home to aid in your child's learning process. All of the teachers are very helpful and patient with the little ones encouraging them to want to learn new exciting things! They have many family involvement activities. It's a wonderful school!

My daughter who is now in the 3rd grade at Aronomink had Mrs. Palladino. She still talks about Mrs. Palladino and how she loved her teaching and the wonderful projects she has done. I was thrilled to learn my youngest daughter was going to be in her classroom in 2007-2008! They both have learned so much from her caring and fun way of teaching. Her classroom enviorment is so friendly and full of colorful artwork from the students. I am going to miss her dearly but I will always stop back with my girls for a visit!

My daughter attended this school for 2006-7 and had Mrs. Palladino who was absolutely great. She blossomed there. The principal Mr. Sanderson is so dedicated and caring. I was involved with the Home & School and met and interacted with all the teachers. They all seem very dedicated to making the kindergardeners successful. Parent Involvement could be better.

My son is attending the 2006-2007 semester and he loves it. The school is great! He has Mrs Summers and she is a wonderful teacher. Mr Sanders is a great Principal. As a parent I could not have picked a better school for my child to start out in.

My son attended for the academic year of 2005-2006. He enjoyed the atmosphere of adapting to a larger school environment riding the bus and eating at a cafeteria without the pressure or fear of the older kids. I believe this is a wonderful idea and allowed him to be successful in kindergarten. He still speaks for Mr. Brown his teacher and wishes to visit him often.

What a great school! I had three kids attend this school and I loved it. I wish they could do this for all the elementary and Jr high grades. A wonderful caring school. Great atmosphere. Everything is geared to kindegarteners. The children just blossom here. This is the best idea Upper Darby School District has ever had.
