There were a lot of issues 3 years ago when they redid the school zones. There were a lot of fights between the students to the point where they had to have special classes for the students. It's improved since then but not by much.

Exxcellent and challenging teaching staff; with a few exceptions. Principal very professional and driven. Students who chose to excel have many opportunities for success.

This school is so great it is the best in the Dubuque Community School District. Hempstead has teachers that become friends with our students.
