I've had 3 children enter this school and the comments i have read posted in 2006 still remain true in 2010. It remains very disorganized and no one knows what's going on there. I have met the principal but your concerns are dismissed. It is better to approach the vice. The teachers are wonderful and most are great caring teachers it's just the hoops you have to jump through in order to get to speak to them. Don't expect a call back. You'll never get it.

I am a student at dunbar middle this is my last year there. Most of the techer are nice there are one or two teacher who are mean. I loved 7th grade all the teachers are nice..The vice principal does most of the discipline but he is fair about it.

I feel that the Dunbar Middle School is very unorganized. I can call any time and ask for example if the band will be rehersing that particular evening and no one will have a clue as how to answer. I can call and ask when money is due on an order that has been sent for the band and again no one can give a straight answer. I have been to the school multiple times to try and arrange a meeting with a teacher and rarely ever get a call back. I have had to resort to showing attitude in the main office to get a meeting scheduled before. My daughter has been attending DMS for the last two years and I'm yet to even met the principal.

My child will be in sixth grade next year. I am all for the boy/girl split. More advanced states have done this and already know how effective it is. From a parent who has a child who excells at Dunbar Intermediate and realizes that the US doesn't measure up to other countries on academic achievement the hope for my daughter's future rests on myself my husband and our spiritual faith. We are fooling ourselves if we feel that our 'pricipal's list' students in Dunbar WV can compete in the real world.

Hi I go to Dunbar Middle School and I love it. I think some of the teackers are nice but two are very mean and one of the two doesn't like me very well. But I go to school and have fun. I just wish that we could have mixed classes instead of the all boy classes and all girl classes. That really is stupid that we can't be with the boys. That is all I have to say about the school. Thanks for having a website like this that we can reccomend people to go to my school. I would reccomend this school in a heart-beat.

My daughter is in the 7th grade at Dunbar Middle. Great school! Wonderful teachers & an excellent principal. She makes good grades and we have encouraged her to become active in her school by becoming involved in extracurricular pursuits. Like anything else school is what you make of it.

The sixth grade for my neice was a nightmare. Let me explain. The whole sixth grade was held accountable for the actions of the few. If 10% of the class was in trouble then none of the children could even talk in lunch. The students could not even look at each other in the hall without getting in troble. Also the school schedule changed every six weeks this included breakfast and lunch. Sometimes it would be an hour difference in the lunch times. The teachers would yell at student and the grading system is preferencial. When I asked my neice if she wanted to change schools she broke into tears and begged to be transfered. I would not recomend this school at all. Poor Teachers. Poor Principal.

I apologize but I do belive the review I just sent went for Dunbar Intermediate instead of Dunbar Middle School. I am dissatisfied with Dunbar Middle School not Dunbar Intermediate. Please put under proper one.
