Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS)

In 2010-2011 Massachusetts used the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) to test students in grades 3 though 8 and 10 in English language arts and math, and in grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The grade 10 MCAS is a high school graduation requirement. The MCAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Massachusetts. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

We loved the Central School. My daughter had two wonderful years there after we moved to town. I am only sorry we didn't move to EB sooner so that both of my kids could have had the full Central School experience.

My son attended Central School for two years and hated it. Every day he complained that school was boring. My husband and I met with his teacher and the principal they informed us that there was no funding to help challenge our son. They expressed no interest in reaching a solution. We enrolled our son into Southbrook Academy in Bridgewater. Best decision we ever made! The smaller classrooms and dedication from the teachers create a wonderful thriving environment for each child. Our son LOVES school now!

The teachers at the Central School are second to none. They go above and beyond without a doubt. My son had a great experience in his four years there.

If you are looking for a school where education is paramount only if the child fits into the school's philosophy of that a child is supposed to be then Central Elementary is where you want to go. As an educator from another town it amazes me that these people are even allowed near children much less teaching them. I will be removing my children at the earliest possible moment.
