Big disappointment! The school offers a good curriculum. The principle of being with children from different backgrounds is great and this is why I chose to have my child there. But the reality is different. The school is poorly run. It does not look like the new principle has much experience. Discipline is not reinforced. They have had a lot of issues and I am not convinced that they were successful in resolving the problems...Yes you have the money and the resources but what makes a school a great one is not the money but the people...Not enough commitment. It compares very poorly to the Glastonbury school system...They have to set the expectations' bar higher in order to retain more students.

I've had one child matriculate from grade 1 to 5 and have a second now enrolled at the school. I could not be more delighted with this 'jewel' of a school. Small class sizes talented faculty and fully engaged administration make this school stand out as a great place to learn. Excellent all around!

EHGEMS is a wonderful school. Turnover is low the principal makes it his business to know all the parents by name and the curriculum is well rounded. As a parent you feel part of a community. Other schools should be modeled from EHGEMS!!!

I will give the East Hartford-Glastonbury my highest rating for academic rigor and excellence as well as a warm and friendly atmosphere for learning. My children went to independent schools after EHGEMS and then on to prestigious universities and graduate school.
