The two recent reviews below both mentioned bullying so I wanted to share my experience. The fact is no matter what school you go to bullying cannot be avoided. Kids can be mean which means that the teachers and staff have to be vigilant. I don't disagree with that. However my experience with bullying was very different from the comments below. My very shy daughter was bullied and the matter was taken care of quickly by the staff because another parent notified the school from what she saw even before I could hear about it. There was a plan even before I approached the staff about it. It was taken care of quickly which involved the principal talking to all parties. I just love how the whole school including the school staff and parents take ownership of every child in the school. Its a great school with strong academics and spiritual grounding in a family atmosphere. I know my kids will grow up prepare for the world well-rounded as a person with life long friends.

I have the same problem with my child attending WCS maybrook. She has been bullied by another student who has had and keeps having problems with other children how many incidents more need to occur till they dismiss the student. Very unhappy and will be transferring my child to a different school.
I am a parent of a girl attending this school. We were OK until my daughter came home complaining that she had been bullied by another older student in the afterschool program and the incident had been dismissed very fast. Academically seems to go on a slower pace than I am use to see. Also worrisome of the teaching. My daughter came home saying that "she is ready to die to meet Jesus". That's what she learned that day. To me it seems a little too much for little kids.
I love Whittier Christian School Maybrook the teachers are amazing. My daughter is in her second year and has learned so much. Could not have chosen a better place.
Times are tough right now but I would never want to take my kids out of this school. Academically they are right on and Spiritually even more so. Yesterday I went to my 2nd graders Chapel and enjoyed the worship and the beautiful verses that were shared it touched me so much. Thank you Whittier Christian for standing firm on the word of God.
My son is in Kindergarten and my daughter is in Preschool at Whittier Christian. This school give you as a parent a warm fuzzy. You know when you drive away your child is in good hands. The curriculum is good both spiritually and academically. My son is thriving and loves the school. My daughter is slowly coming out of her shell. I highly recommend this school. It's been a blessing.
My step daughter attends kindergarten here and I am very pleased with the curriculum (educationally and spiritually) extra-curricular activities and the music department (she is learning the violin). We were concerned about the parent teacher communication because we have joint custody but the teacher has been great! The music department is truly phenomenal the music teacher is patient and very supportive even has his own website with streaming video of 'how to's.'
Both of my children started at Whittier Christian in preschool. I was very impressed with the preschool that I enrolled my son in Kindergarten. His teacher is wonderful. She keeps me informed of my sons progress all the time. My son loves school and his teacher. He has had a very positive experience this year. Academically spirtually and emotioanlly he is soaring.
staff and faculties are very responsible and friendly. the school program is great.
My son has been at Whittier Christian for 2 yrs. And we have had a wonderful experience. He has done well academically and spiritually.
This school is a wonderful place for children to recieve a Christian education. The spiritual growth that is provided for the children is exceptional. The curriculum is solid but requires additional training for the teachers. New strategies and techniques must be adopted by educators to fully promote student achievment.
