As to my comment in April of 2012 and to the parent who commented on my grammer If out of all of my comment that is all you focused on then shame on you. My daughter is now in a wonderful caring and attentive school district. My negative comment is supported by all the other negative ratings you see below. Now that I have experienced another district I can honestly say their is an overwhelming support from parents at her new school. Support with homework projects concerts and after school events. Not one seat empty to support their children. This makes for a more positive atmosphere for staff. I work full time with other children to tend to and make an effort to do all I can to do my part with her education. I'm sure teachers respect this and are able to tend to the students more effectively when homework is done children are studying and parents monitoring the work that is being done. I see this in full effect at her new school. I can honestly saw I wish I saw this while she was at cole manor for all the students sake.

Horrible staff. They state that the need for staff is the reason for scheduled bathroom breaks. Which means children are not allowed to go until that time. So a child has to program there bladder which can lead to health issues and the ability to not focus. The teachers where just there. They had no compassion for the children and very little patients. I met one teacher who showed a sense of love for the children he was instructing. It smelled like the bathrooms every time I visited. Which was often due to the disrespectful response of staff to my children. I was told that I am not suppose to trust my child. Yet the adults there because they are not able to lie. I was denied the ability to accompany my child on trips. My child was force to eat lunch even if it was not liked. If the lunch was not eaten my child was told not to eat snack. My child homework and absence notes where not being recorded by the teachers. During the hot days they would not allow students in to get a drink of water due to lake of staff. It was a very emotionally draining experience for my child. I was very upset by what I witnessed. It seemed more like they were preparing the students for jail than college

In response to the most recent comment I suggest to that parent that perhaps you are one of those parents that aren't involved. Who are you to make a generalized statement such as " how little parents actually care about their child's education"? You don't know me and I'm guessing you don't know most of the parents. You can't even write a full sentence or use proper grammar ("disappointment are"???) Obviously there must be an issue with your child not succeeding. My children are learning and succeeding exceptionally well with the help of the talented teachers AND my support. Perhaps you should homeschool?

We recently moved from Wissahickon School District and my son went to Mattison Avenue Elementary which is a WONDERFUL school! My son has been in Cole Manor for almost 2weeks and the staff that i have dealt with are rude incompetent and spiteful towards my child. I had even left a message for the superintendant of Norristown Are School District about 6 days ago and have yet to recieve a call back. I am appalled as a parent by the way my child has been treated and WOULD NOT reccomend this school AT ALL!!!!!!

I went to Cole Manor as a child and now my daughter goes there. She was at a private school for PreK but I choose to send her to Cole Manor for Kindergaten. I work with a parent that kept her child at the private school and she is shocked to hear my daughter;s progress in reading and math. She is now reading her 1st grade site words. I credit her teacher for her fresh ideas on teaching. We are the class parents and when we visit for class parties we are always impressed how all the staff manages all the children. And how she keeps an orderly classroom of 5-6 year olds not an easy task. Great School!

I do not know why this school rating is so low as my kid is there since kindergarten.I find the staff teacher the activities they do all r excellant. As far as home work and all is related is very perfect even though is couple of pages. Also the projects they do and then the review and the end. the whole process is arranged well. The teacher gives u the feedback very promptly and also in time.Always u will get the answer for yr query. In fact v really like this school. oh ya...also separate play ground for k-1 and 2-4...great......

I think Cole Manor is a good school. I wish they had a program in public schools to teach kids other languages

Academic programs are non-existent. How can a 'school' have only 2 subjects?!?! Math and reading and 1 sheet of homework a night (nothing on the weekends)!!!
