This is a standout school in a depressed area of Upstate NY. Teachers are caring and students are encouraged to excel and dream beyond the constraints of their environment. One of the best features of ECS is that it is a very small school which allows students to develop mentoring relationships with the teachers and benefit from individual attention. For a small school there is also an unexpectedly large number of extracurricular activities available. My main critique is that Edmeston needs to offer more Advanced Placement courses as increasing importance is being placed on this in admissions to four year colleges. However overall Edmeston is a very good school for its geographic area.
