Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests End-of-Instruction Exams (OCCT EOI)

In 2008-2009 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests End-of-Instruction (OCCT EOI) exams to test students in high school in algebra I, algebra II, English II, English III, geometry, biology I and U.S. history upon completion of each course. The OCCT EOI is a high school graduation requirement. The OCCT EOI exams are standards-based tests, which means they measure specific skills defined for each subject by the state of Oklahoma. I'm a Santa Fe grad and I must say that if I got to choose now which Edmond high school I attended it would definitely still be Santa Fe. All three schools are competitive academically with great test scores and curriculum. However Santa Fe has more scholarships better success in extracurricular activities more school spirit and it is newer. There are also fewer students and a focus on teamwork and togetherness. I was always proud to attend Santa Fe and I had an excellent experience there.

They excel in academics art drama music sports and everything conducive to insuring all students have all available means to a quality education. Their staff is second to none. This is evidenced by the outstanding achievements of their students in every area of competition to include but not limited to the ACT SAT and the National Merit Scholar Ship Program speech drama band music and sports. The faculity staff and students of Santa Fe High School have accomplished many distinguished achievements and they will continue to excel as a evidence of their philosphy of "Progress through Pride and Professionalism!

If your child is attacked by another student both will be punished. They punish the victim.

This school is the smallest of the Edmond High Schools. They do not have an extensive extracurricular program; they have band choir and sports period. It is a myth that they do not have strong academic programs they score extremely high in their math and science programs offering access to college level courses and have a very large number of academic honors scholars. There is a strong sports program as well however I think that is true of almost all the public high schools in OK.

Our daughter entered Santa Fe this past year and has excelled. Having read through the prior reviews I can't fathom some of the parents and students complaints. We've found the administrators to be most helpful when approached about any issue. Academic gains made by a student are dependent upon the student and the parents. Exceptional music theater and sports programs are a big bonus. We made the right choice in moving from Oklahoma City to Edmond while ours was still in elementary school. A choice based on researching the schools in the greater OKC area.

Love the school-principal is on the ball & he's involved with the kids. Lots of great clubs & activities to engage my daughter.

I have been to Edmond Santa Fe High School for three years. I arrived there in my Sophomore year. The environment there is poorly thought out. Edmond Santa Fe High School sucks!!! The principal Mr.Brown is a total jerk. During Lunch in my Junior year I was having an anxiety attack in the back halls and nobody cared. So in order to get sanity alone I needed to get to the restroom in Hall A. Unfortunately Mr.Brown caught me in the hall and told me to get back to the back hall. The other students are rude and disrespectful. They would put others down and make fun of other people. I remember on student came up to me and just rip paper out of my notebook without even consulting me. The teachers are pricks. Parents don't send your children to Edmond Santa Fe. It's a horrible school. Once you're there you'd want to kill yourself.

Santa Fe is an amazing school! I as a student absolutely love it there. It is very diverse so you get the best of both worlds. The school is like one big family! DWDW is the coolest week there. The students do a bunch of crazy dares and stuff to raise monney for charity. It is a very fun school but also has a hard curriculum. School is very tough but Santa Fe teachers will work side-by-side to help you understand. It is a school for kids that will work very very hard but still can be a teenager.

I think its not very good at an Educational Background but very good Athletically

As I life long Edmond resident a graduate of Ed. Memorial I can assure you that Santa Fe is a fine school. I currently have 2 children attending. Ratings to the contrary are by individiuals who focus on minutia rather than the big picture. Fact ALL 3 of Edmond schools are ranked in the top 4% nationally. All 3 will prepare your child for success at any higher learning instition. Negativity regarding this school can largely be explained by class or racial differences. Yes Santa Fe has a couple hundred more black students and the student population is more diverse regarding wealth. So what? Prepare your kid for the real world they live in or keep them in the great white world that's shrinking every day.

Being there i can honestly say that this school is a very fantastic school. everyone has a place at santa fe. there are a ton of clubs && many different groups of people come together. DWDW[double wolf dare week] is probablly the highlight of the year. all different kinds of students come together to raise money for a variety of charitys. our sports cant be beat && the food isnt that bad. the teachers go out of their way to makesure we understand whats happening && for the most part the kids arent that bad either. Edmond santa fe is where its at && i happen to adore it.

It's safe and the sporting events and facilities are very nice. While there are a handful of qualified motivated and exceptional teachers this is not the norm. If your student plans to attend an average state school Santa Fe High School is acceptable. If however your child likes to be challenged beyond the norm score exceptionally well on standardized tests and be encouraged to attend the best universities in the United States or abroad consider other alternatives than Santa Fe. Santa Fe encourages students to attend state schools and community colleges within Oklahoma. This is fine for students who pursue it but it is unfortunate that students are not encouraged to apply to Oxford Stanford and other top ranked institutions. At Santa Fe students are encouraged to seek mediocrity instead of superiority in their curriculums college goals and career pursuits.

This school is the best in all of edmond.

Yes there are a few flaws but every school has them. We now have a principal that comes out of their office. He is talking with the students. Most of the teachers give you visuals of what they are teaching. They don't just go by the book. If there is something outside of school you need help with the teachers with help you with your problems. I love going to Edmond Santa Fe and would not choose the other two schools in Edmond.

Santa Fe is the best school and i wouldnt change or transfer to another high school ever!! The teachers there are your friends and help you with everything you need even if they never had you are always willing to help you.

SFHS is an amazing school. We were always satisfied with the fairness of the teachers and administration and the quality of the education our kids received. Each of them have gone on to higher education or great jobs thanks in part to the wonderful teachers at SFHS.

My 14 year old stepson is excelling at Santa Fe HS. He finished his second semester with a 4.0. This incredible turn around is in great part to the teachers. Great job Sante Fe HS Staff for turning this young man's life around!

I was a military child and I moved all over. I went to three different high schools and my brothers went to four others between them. I have to say that SFHS was one of the best I've ever encountered in the 21 different states I've lived in. The music program was amazing the theater program was great and the academics were years ahead of other places we went. Several of the teachers there absolutely changed my life. If I get a chance to move out there before my child is old enough to go to high school SFHS is exactly the school I would want her to go to.

My son is a freshman at SFHS. We are so pleased with his whole experience thus far. The 9th grade office and principals are outstanding and work very hard long hours. We moved our son from a private school and have never looked back. He is continually saying how much he loves Santa Fe. We have two older children that have graduated from college so I know what I am looking for in an education for my son. Our family would recommend Santa Fe to anyone who wants a well rounded education with a lot of new experiences.

Edmond Santa Fe is the best school ever. Edmond Santa Fe has the best sports program in the state. Our school spirit is unrivaled. The only downside is that our REAL principal is never around. Our assistant principal is more like a principal than our real one. He is always talking to students and interacting with them too.
