Pleasant Grove is by far the best school in this region. Most of the negative complaints listed here are from STUDENTS. No surprise that teenagers dislike their school. As a parent of a recent graduate let me assure you that Pleasant Grove High School is the perfect blend of academics athletics and learning opportunities.

The threat at PGHS was on Thursday March 7 2013.Sorry for the error. I corrected this so everyone knows the problems seem to be getting worse and now it is the safety of our children is in jeopardy.

Administration is very bias and focuses on the 'legacy' of what they think the school should be. There are students that have various learning weaknesses and it seems that the school really doesn't service these groups at 100%. A few teachers are good but some try to act like friends towards the students than role models. Office administrators are very cold and unwelcoming. This school is about test scores and showing off their sport teams.... not all students fit into this mold. Tax dollars fall in this school and it does not benefit everyone. No transitional period from 8th grade to 9th grade. Orientation at 9th grade is beyond poor.

Counselors and Administration needs to be evaluated. Grades are being exposed among staff and other students. Some students are being put down and drain from critics. Gradings are deflated. Don't let the API and reviews persuade you to move into the area. Take initiative and talk to other students to get real feedback. Wish the school think more of students and help them instead of keeping its brand name.

After 4 years at PGHS the decline in the quality of education and the school environment is startling. Budget cuts have resulted in situations such as teachers that are clearly not qualified teaching AP classes and classes sizes that are climbing to 40 students! The administration is not supportive of individual students or parental concerns. We had such high hopes for this school. It is disappointing to see the direction it is going. We will be putting our other children in private school instead.

I graduated with the class of 2010 and I absolutely loved PGHS. From the challenging academics to the amazing school spirit to the top-notch sports teams Pleasant Grove is a very well-rounded school. There are many opportunities for students to succeed in the classroom and even more for them to become involved in extracurricular activities. Some of the teachers are amazing teachers and people that have touched my life. I know that I will take what I have learned from this school and use it to become successful in college and wherever else I go in life. . -Blackpinoyeagle

The school is not as good as most people think. It has gone down in 2010. Teachers carry their problems from home to sch not focus like used to. There are too much manipulation and drams from the front office staff. It is really the students who study hard and has motivation to do well and succeed. It is not from the school or teachers.

I have attended this school for a year and have seen how the teachers and counselors are helpful and supportive but the elective course selection is not desirable in my opinion. Also i wish that the school was more diverse and that the school was more exciting and a place that you want to come to everyday. despite all of this the school has wonderful academic programs and classes.

My experience so far in Pleasant Grove has been exciting to say the least. With so many extracurricular activities to offer combined with an extensive variety of classes makes Pleasant Grove one of the best schools in the county. Also it is ranked 'first' and the results of Pleasant Grove students were far superior than other high schools in the district.

I have been to three different schools in the EGUSD and I must say that this school comes first in acedemics and second in school spirit in contrast to EGHS whereas they come second in acedemics and first in school spirit. The teachers are very kind and understanding and as long as your child fits into a solid group of friends they'll survive.

This is my daughter's second year at this school. My daughter husband and I are very happy with the school. The teachers are very good and caring and provide an excellent academic environment. Though my daughter is not the best student there is she is being challenged academically and is enjoying most of the classes she is taking. She is also involved in one sport and clubs and really likes these extracurricular activities. Finally I have been very impressed with the parent involvement that I have seen at the school. There is good parent turn out for Back-to-School Night which you don't often see in high school.

This school is awesome I love being here I am so supported by teachers and there is not a hostile community. I love having the middle school right next to us because it makes life at the highschool more fun. I like haveing all classes in one day too. I also like the diversity of my school.
