Sanderling Waldorf School

My two children have attended Sanderling for three years. We feel so fortunate to be a part of such a warm supportive and nurturing community. The leadership is excellent and attentive and the teachers are caring and capable. I trust that they have taken the time to get to know my children and have their best interests at heart. The curriculum is age-appropriate and interesting.

Waldorf education provides a thorough in-depth curriculum that meets the children at each developmental stage to foster their imagination excite their thinking and develop their capacities so that they may grow up to be free thinking independent human beings.

My child is happy to go to school each day. I know he is held by an entire community. I love the stories he brings home the ideas and imagination that come out of him and to watch his sheer joy for learning. We feel so grateful to be a part of a flourishing and nurturing school that enriches the lives of children parents teachers and administrators.

The Sanderling Waldorf School in Encinitas is a school unlike any other for so many reasons. The education is beautiful and magical. The curriculum is designed to meet the various stages of child development. Beginning in the 1st grade the children learn two languages - Spanish and German. The specialty classes are also what make our school so unique. Besides the fact that my children LOVE their school I too LOVE being a part of this special community of like minded folks.

I love Sanderling School because I know that when I drop my daughter off there she is in loving hands. Her teachers truly care for her as an individual and nurture her to be who she is. I love that the arts is incorporated throughout her day and that she is not subjected to testing and busy work. Sanderling is a beautiful environment for children to become who they are.

I feel so blessed that my child has the opportunity to learn in such a warm nurturing and creative environment - truly a special haven.

Younger children can play a lot and nurture their imagination. Older children can learn with such an artistic way.

The Sanderling School teaches children to connect with themselves & others through nature play and conscious curriculum in an environment of love and understanding for all. The Sanderling School still values community and responsibility and most importantly is churning out happy healthy humans!

The teachers have a true passion for educating the whole child. Creatvity abounds at Sanderling through play and education thus the joy of learning is instilled in the hearts hands and head of each child. This school has been great for our family.

When I found Waldorf schools it was like finding something I had been searching for but didn't know. The Sanderling School has caring and dedicated teachers and amazing parents who work very hard to help grow this developing school.

Sanderling School serves organic whole grain snacks to the children and has classrooms full of beautiful wooden toys. The teachers sing all day to the nursery/kindergarten kids and tell stories using handmade puppets.

It is a a place where children can grow up at a child's pace surrounded by beautiful natural things and by calm loving adults. It is a supportive community for the whole family - especially if you are concerned about healthy food and a healthy planet and don't want the negative effects of electronic media bombarding your child.

It is an incredibly loving nurturing community of parents and teachers committed to making a wonderful unique school for the children (and has overcome some pretty huge obstacles to get there.) The dedication and hard work of every teacher and family has made this school happen and the children benefit immensely. The philosophy and curriculum create a passion for learning stewardship for the Earth and an honoring of childhood. We love this school!

The Sanderling School may be small but it has a big heart. We feel grateful that there is a Waldorf School in our community. We have a dedicated staff of teachers who genuinely care about their students. We have a dedicated group of parent/volunteers whose efforts help carry the school forward. The look on the faces of the children who are there every day tell the story of how wonderful it is to be a student at the school.

Waldorf provides the most amazing education besides the humanitarian touch and unconditional love for the children. EVERY school in the country teachers parents should all learn about this amazing type of alternative education. No words can describe the outcome of allowing children to attend this type of schooling shapping kids into wellbalanced well ground individuals with amazing values and standards. GO WALDORF!

It is a place that is filled with love warmth and genius interests of children in their development in all levels. It is such a comfort to see my daughter's smiling face when I pick her up and knowing that she is under a loving care from teachers who are passionate about what they doing and their interests and care on environment and raising children in a natural way.

The Sanderling Waldorf School far exceeded my expectations as a developing Waldorf School. It is small but has a program and faculty that would be impressive in a much larger school.

The Sanderling School offers a safe and nurturing environment for children to be children. The arts-based education and emphasis on the whole child -- heart head and hands -- is refreshing. Committing to a Waldorf education is not for every family as it is not a 'pick up and drop off' mentality. But if you want to be involved and believe that there is a better way to develop and grow young minds this is a wonderful and nurturing environment.
