California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

I am going to give you an honest review of the school. This school is only 2/5. The reasons are as follows Some of the teachers are unresponsive to parent inquiries the principal is selective with what issues she wants to address and when (if at all) the traffic is terrible parents wait an hour in their cars so they can pick up their kids there is NO shade in the play areas in my experience they have poor policies or not at all my rating of 2/5 rather than 1/5 is because there is high parent involvement. School needs fair and equal policies to all. Teachers and principal need to communicate... not selectively either.

Wonderful dedicated teachers and staff make this school amazing. My son had a very hard time adjusting to kindergarten and Mr Tillyer helped him greatly by being patient and wanting my son to succeed. Now in first grade his teacher is beyond wonderful. He loves being an RC coyote and partaking in the many wholesome activities put on by the school and PTA. This school gets an A+++

My child was in the first class to start at this school and this year is our last. My child has had a wonderful experience overall. She has participatied in many wonderful activities that have helped her grow and care about community and envirnment. The teachers care so much and really get t o know the students and their individual personalities. We are sad to go but thank you for the great foundation to move on to middle school.

This is wonderful school with the best teachers around. I hope that even with all the recent pink slips that have been given out the entire RC staff returns in august for another year. The dedicated teachers are what makes Reidy Creek the best school in Escondido

Great teachers! Highly dedicated and committed to the students and their individual needs! I feel that the staff is not your ordinary group of teachers and that you will not find educators like this at any other school on Escondido! They just get it!

My son attended Reidy Creek for 1st grade last year and is now in 2nd grade there. I could not have been more pleased with our first grade experience. The care concern and teamwork of the teachers was fantastic. I only hope 2nd grade and beyond are a similar experience. The high standards teacher quality and enthusiasm as well as the involvement of parents and volunteers help make Reidy Creek a cohesive community. I did not expect this to be the case with public school here and couldn't be happier.

We've just started another school year and my kids can't wait to for morning to come around so they can go back to school. Mrs. Cordova 1st Grade is one of the kindest and most patient people I've ever met. She addresses each child as an individual and really connects with them. It's amazing! This is a great school and a huge benefit to our community.

A very special place. Ive felt heard by staff when my children have issues or concerns they are dealt with and I feel the students have true expectations and accountability. My kids have structure and kindness all around them at school and love at home....a winning combination

My children attended Reidy Creek for a while-before we moved. As a parent volunteer and employee of the school I have to say that I was very impressed. Wonderful school with wonderful employees and great volunteers! Their PTA is great too! My children really miss their teachers as do I. One of the teachers continues to keep in touch with our family and we just love her! I have the nothing but the highest respect for those that work and teach at Reidy Creek School.

I am the PTA president and have found Reidy Creek parents to be more enthusiatic and supportive than any school my children have previously attended. Our principal is very supportive of PTA and committed to our school. We have incredible teachers committed volunteers including the best art program of volunteers I have ever experienced. Reidy Creek is a wonderful place to be!

This will be our third year at Reidy Creek and we feel very lucky to be at this school. All of the teachers have been very good and they with the principal put the kids first! They really make an extra effort and try to improve the way things are done....not just keep it status quo. The parent involvement is also very evident and that makes a big difference!

I have two kids in this school and I have been very happy. My son had Mrs.Chaffin in second grade and by far she has been the best teacher he is ever had. In third grade he had Mr.Schoon and both him and I really liked him. My daughter started kindergarten with Mrs.Brown and I can not belive how much she learned in such short period of time. I love the school academics. The only thing I do not like is the parking lot. Is is awful but then again I have not seen a well design elementary school parking lot in any of the other schools either.
