Essex Fells Elementary School is the best kept secret in NJ! It operates like a private school and is very well funded by the amazing PTA fundraisers. The teachers and academics are the highest quality. We lived in Long Valley NJ previously which is always highly rated but Essex Fells is superior in the performing arts for the elementary age group and the strength of the core curriculum. It is a small community with significant parent involvement. I'm so happy we moved here. My son is in 3rd grade and my daughter is in junior high and spoke Italian fluently on our recent vacation to Tuscany after just 2 years. She is also taking French and was paid the ultimate compliment multiple times while we visited France and Zurich that she spoke French without an accent! The teachers guidance counselors and principal are excellent.

Outstanding leadership provided by Principal. She is a motivated educator who has risen the bar to raise student achievement. Small class sizes and dedicated teaching staff also contribute to a good nurturing learning environment.
its a great school..its been going downhill ever since the new principal came. The teachers are great. GO THERE! The school is still great and the kids are awesome. you form the greatest relationships going to e.f.s. because everyone is so close.
